As we made our way to Physics, I noticed that Isaac was become rather distant from Cassie, much to our surprise. Every time we tried to talk to him, he would shrug us off and move away from us.
"What happen between you two?" I asked Cassie.
"Nothing." Cassie replied with a small smile. Her eyes said a different story.
During class, Isaac sat next to Alix instead of Cassie, who flashed a hurt look at him.
"Lovers tiff?" I asked.
Cassie nodded.
I noticed that August and Lilly aren't in the classroom.
Weird. We were near them a while ago. I thought.
Suddenly, we heard a scream from outside. We went to the window and saw golden statues outside our school.
"What the hell?" Nino gasped.
We saw a man dressed in a gold suit and launching beams of light, turning people into gold.
"Now I will turn The City of Love into The City of Gold! No one can stop me! Not even Ladybug and her so called friends." Said the man as he fired the light ray at a police officer.
"C'mon." I said to the others. They nodded and followed me to an empty storage room. We ran into Malik, who nodded at us.
"Tikki, Spots On!"
"Arachne, Webs out!"
"Sahara, Unleash you sting!"
"Trixx, let's pounce!"
"Pollen, Buzz on!"
"Fang, Time to fly!"
"Loong, Open skies!"
After we transformed, Isaac gave the armadillo miraculous to Nino, who nodded.
"Dill, let's roll!"
He wore he same outfit Isaac wore from last year. The only difference is that the lower mask was replaced by a black helmet, leaving his mouth exposed.
"Neat." He said with a smirk.
We left the school and went to face the akuma.
"Ahh! The infamous Ladybug! And you brought your friends as well. Excellent! Now I'll add you to my collection. After I get your miraculous of course." The man in gold said.
"Not a chance in hell, pal!" Isaac shouted. The akuma tutted.
"Now, now. You'll sit still. Like your friend here." He said, pointing at a gold statue resembling Luka.
I gasped. It is Luka!
"You've done it now!" I growled.
"And you're next. Watch out, here comes Midas 2.0!" He shouted and fired a beam at us.
We quickly dived out of the way. Nino launched his rope dart at Midas 2.0, who caught it and laughed.
"Nice try, Armour-dingus!" He said and turned it into gold. Nino struggled to bear its weight as he tried to move. Before Midas 2.0 could reach for his chained bracelet, Isaac kicked him in the face. Midas 2.0 scowled at him.
"That was uncool. Taste gold!"
He summoned a barrage of golden nuggets at him. Using his acrobatics, he gracefully dodged them.
