Cassie POV

After the events of Midas 2.0, which ended with the bank robber being taken to prison, we continued with our day. I've been noticing that Isaac has been stealing glances at August and Lilly. Suspicion burned in his eyes.

After our final class, we went to the Sports Hall to practice on our fencing skills with our PE teacher, Armand D'Argencourt and the rest of the fencing club. After D'Argencourt left to use the bathroom, I decided to confront Isaac.

"Why have you been spying on August and Lilly, Isaac?" I asked.

Isaac sighed and sheathed his Training Sabre. He pulled off his visor. I did the same.

"I just don't trust them. They rub me off the wrong way." He replied.

"What is your deal? Are you really that jealous with August and the fact that I've been hanging out with him?" I asked, folding my arms.

"What? No! It's just that he looks like Adrien. The same could be said for Lilly. She looks like Lila." He protested.

"They are nothing alike. Principal Smith even checked their file. They're telling the truth." I countered.

"And what about that brooch? The one that looks like a butterfly? Don't you think it looks like the Butterfly Miraculous?" He asked.

I sighed and shook my head in frustration.

"Don't you think you're being a little too paranoid? Ever since Hawkmoth is gone and Adrien and Lila escaped prison, you've been on edge."

"Yeah, well. I have every right to. Not since Hawkmoth, Gabriel Agreste, kicked the bucket." Isaac retorted angerly.

"And who's fault is that? Maybe if you haven't dropped him, none of this would've happen." I replied bitterly.

I gasped and covered my mouth, looking at Isaac's shocked face.

Oh God. What did I do? I thought.

Isaac's face turned from shock to hurt.

"Isaac,  I didn't mean to-." I said.

"Say that. Yeah, I know. But it still hurts."  He replied coldly. He turned around and walked towards the boys changing room. Everyone gasped and whispered amongst themselves. I turned and ran to the girls changing room, ashamed of what I said.

Isaac ignored me when we prepared to go home. As I was about to head home, I ran into August, who noticed my dejected expression.

"What's wrong, Cas?" He asked.

"I had an argument with my boyfriend and now, he's mad at me." I replied.

"What was the argument about?" He asked.

"He thinks you are Adrien and Lilly is Lila." I said.

August shook his head and pulled me into a one armed hug. His scent smelled like roses and candy. It was almost addictive.

"He's obviously not the right guy for you. After all, there's plenty of fish in the sea." He said with a warm smile, similar to Isaac's but more attractive.

"Maybe. What? No! It was wrong of me to say that! I should apologise to him tonight. If not, then tomorrow." I said.

"You can do that. There's no way he can stay mad at you forever. If not, then there's nothing you can do about it. Besides, he's been hanging around that Alix girl behind your back." August said.

I nodded sadly. Ever since our last fallout, Isaac befriended Alix, one of the students who was been giving Marinette the cold shoulder a few months back.  Thankfully, she made amends and turned her back on Lila and her posse.

"You don't think he's falling for her?" I asked.

August shrugged.

"Who knows? But that would be wrong of him. He's always been the type of guy who's loyal to his loved ones." He replied.

Unless you enrage him. I thought. I smiled at August.

"Thanks for cheering me up, August." I said.

"No problem, Cassie." He said.

After that, we parted ways.
