Marinette POV
"Thanks for the lift, babe. See you soon." I said and kissed Luka on the cheek. My boyfriend smirked and pedalled away. I sighed and entered the school, meeting up with Alya, Nino, Chloe, Zoe, Kagami and Juleka.
It has been 5 months ever since Hawkmoth's death and life in Paris has been much more better than before. Lila, Adrien and some of my former friends are in prison for helping Hawkmoth. Apart from the occasional criminal catching, not much has happened.
"Hey, Girl! How was the Christmas Holidays?" Alya asked, hugging me.
"Pretty fun if you ask me. Grandma visited us, got presents, spend time with the family." I said with a smirk.
"Same here." Chloe said, sorting out her makeup.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't Maribug. Long time no see." A voice called out. We saw Cassie waving at us. Isaac mock saluting next to her. We talked amongst ourselves, laughing at our funniest moments.
"So, you and Cassie are dating, eh?" Alya asked, nudging Isaac. The spider theme vigilante looked away and blushed.
"What makes you say that?" He asked with a false confused look.
"Don't lie. You two are very close. Closer than usual." Zoe said with a smug look on her face.
"Let's just say he webbed me up during Christmas night. If you know what I mean." Cassie said with a cheeky grin.
"Cas!" Isaac gasped.
"You mean you two-?" Nino asked, pointing at us. Cassie blushed and tugged the collar of her sweater up to her chin. Isaac tugged his goggles.
"OMG! YOU TWO CROSSED THE LINE!" Chloe gasped.
"Shut up! People are gonna hear!" Isaac hissed. Everyone looked at Isaac with raised eyebrows.
"Crossed what line?" Kagami asked.
"None of your business." He replied, scowling at a giggling Chloe.
We arrived at our class and greeted Ms Mendeleiev, who waved back absently. As everyone settled down, our teacher got up from her seat.
"Class. I have an announcement. Last night, The Rig has been breached and the criminals have escaped. Including Chat Noir, AKA Adrien Agreste. Along with Lila Rossi."
We gasped and murmured amongst ourselves.
"Adrien and Lila escaped from prison? How?" I asked.
"No idea. And The Rig has been destroyed. What the heck?" Isaac answered.
"Also, a few of our students who have aided Hawkmoth have also left The Rig. Ivan, Mylene, Sabrina, Nathaniel and Marc." Ms Mendeleiev added.
I felt my heart freeze up after hearing that.
No. Not them. Not again. I thought to myself.
"Please be careful when walking home at night, we don't know if some of the escaped convicts are hiding in Paris." Our teacher said with a warning tone.
We nodded.
"Right. Now that's out of the way, let us start with the register." She said and started calling out our names.
"Looks like we're in for it." Kagami said.
"How come?" Juleka asked.
"Because Adrien has a major grudge against us. Mainly me." Isaac said.
"Well, you did kill his dad. Who turned out to be Hawkmoth." Nino said.
Isaac said nothing and looked down.
"Nino!" Alya said with a scowl.
"Sorry, dude. I didn't mean to say it like that." Nino said with an apologetic tone.
"Nah, man. It's fine. I can't say I blame Adrien." Isaac replied, tracing his thumb along the faded scar on his right eye.
I nodded.
Looks like we better keep an eye out for Adrien and Lila. And the person who helped them escape.
