Chapter 13: Suspicion

Chloe POV

It's been 2 days ever since Cassie and August started dating. Isaac started spending little to no time with us and even went to Stone Gym alone instead of with Cassie like before. They still do go to the gym, but Isaac leaves as soon as he sees them. 

Something smells fishy and I intend on finding out. 

During lunch, I went to go and find Alix. I eventually found her at the racing track.

"Alix. I want to speak to you." I said. 

She raised an eyebrow at me.

"Yeah? About what?" She asked.

"In private." I said.

She followed me into the girl's toilet. 

"So, what can I do for you, my queen." She said sarcastically.

"Cut the sarcasm. Anyway, are you and Isaac dating?" I asked.

Alix raised her eyebrow in confusion.

"What?" She asked.

"Don't play dumb with me. You and Isaac are dating." I said, prodding my finger at her chest. She swatted my hand away.

"No I'm not." She said with a scowl.

"Then how come I saw a picture of you and Isaac kissing?" I asked and showed her the picture of Isaac and Alix kissing.

She raised an eyebrow again.

"I wasn't there. I was at home chilling. And Isaac was at home at the time." She said.

What? I thought.

"So, you two aren't dating?" I asked.

"No. Don't get me wrong, Isaac is a good looking guy, but he's not my type. Any girl would be lucky to have him as a lover. Cassie too. Why are you asking me this?" She responded.

"Umm. Sorry. Just a rumour." I replied.

"Right. We don't want what happened with Princess Justice to happen again." Alix said with a nervous chuckle.

"Say, how are things with you and Marinette?" I asked.

"We're slowly reconciling. Though it'll take long for us to rekindle our friendship. But, we're getting there." She replied.

After that, Alix exited the girl's toilet, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

So that means August was wrong about the kiss. Would he be lying about it?  And it would mean that we've been tricked. I thought to myself.

Now I know why Isaac is somewhat suspicious about August and Lily. And Zoe told me that Isaac heard Lila's voice.

Come to think of it, Lilly's voice does sound slightly similar to Lila's. But at a higher pitch. The same could be said for August. 

And I noticed that Cassie's eye colour changed from blue to pink when she started dating August. She doesn't wear contact lenses.

Isaac was right, something doesn't seem right with them.

And I'm going to find out what. 

All I need is some help.
