Alya POV

August and Lilly started hanging out with us. Eventually, we became friends. Though Isaac was unsure about them. I noticed he's been keeping an eye on them throughout our classes.

"Don't you think you're acting like a stalker, Isaac?" I asked.

"Has that not been your experience, Alya? Being a blogger and reporter." He replied, raising an eyebrow.

I scoffed.

"I set my own standards, Spider-boy."

"Whatever you say, Volpe." He shrugged.

During lunch, we gossiped about just about any topic we could think of. Teachers, classes, our homework. I noticed a brooch shaped like a butterfly on his t-shirt.

"Nice brooch, August." I said.

"Thanks, it was a gift from my father." He said with a smile.

"Wow, he must have really treasured it." Marinette said.

August nodded.

"Yes, it was in his will. He passed away before I left Elton Academy. Heart cancer." He said sadly.

"I'm so sorry." Zoe gasped.

"It's fine. Had it not been for Lilly cheering me up, I would've been depressed for the rest of my life." He said. Lilly patted his head and beamed.

"It's nice to have friends who you can count on." Cassie said.

"Yes. I couldn't agree more." August said, flashing a smile at her. Cassie blushed.

"You know what, I just remembered. I left my training sabre in my locker. Gotta go." Isaac said and left.

"Isaac, wait up." Cassie called and followed him.

"What's up with him?" Lilly asked.

"No idea, dudette." Nino replied, shrugging.

Cassie POV

"Isaac, wait." I called and grabbed his arm. He looked back and frowned.

"Sorry to bother you, I thought you was back there flirting with August." He said.

"What are you talking about, Zack? I already have you as my boyfriend. Why would I be flirting with another guy in front of you?" I asked.

Isaac sighed.

"I saw you blush when he smiled at you. I'm not blind or stupid, Cas."

"I never said that." I replied, folding my arms.

"Your attitude says overwise." He said, leaning on the locker.

We stared at each other for a moment.

"Are you jealous?" I asked.

"N-no." Isaac mumbled. I moved closer to him and looked straight at his eyes.

"You're a terrible liar. I can see it in your eyes." I said.

Isaac said nothing.

"I guess that's just you being protective. I get it. But I can handle myself. Do you trust me?" I said, touching his forehead with mine.

Isaac stayed silent for a while before answering.

"Yeah. I do trust you. That's what our relationship is about. Scratch that, that's what any relationship is about. But it doesn't mean I can't protect you."

I sighed and kissed him on the lips. He returned the kiss before he pulled away.

"I get it. But don't think for a second I would cheat on you. I'm not like Stephanie." I said and walked away, leaving Isaac alone with his locker.

Isaac POV

I watched as Cassie walked back to the lunch hall and sighed.

I want to believe Cassie. Truly, I do.

But why do I have a bad feeling about this? I felt my chest tighten.

Supress your emotions, Isaac. Whoever has the Butterfly Miraculous will use them against you. I thought to myself.
