Kagami POV
I knelled on the ground, panting for breath. My sword was impaled onto the ground.
"Is that all you have, Kagami? I expected more from you." Adrien taunted as his akumas chuckled and taunted at me.
I made a promise to Marinette I'd take care of her parents while se was away. And I'm not going to let her down. I thought to myself.
5 hours earlier
I was at home, practicing my fencing skills, until I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." I said.
Marinette entered.
"Mari? What brings you here?" I asked.
"I don't have long, but can we talk?" She asked.
I nodded.
After a short discussion, and some tea, I nodded.
"So Adrien has kidnapped Cassie and her brother. So you and the others are going to rescue them." I said.
Marinette nodded.
"Then in that case, I'll go with you." I said.
"No, Kagami. I need you to stay here. My parents know that I'm Ladybug. Now they're a target for criminals and Adrien. He could use them as a pawn against me." She said.
"What do you want me to do?" I asked.
"I need you to take care of them while I'm gone. At least until I get back. Can you do that for me? Please?" She pleaded.
I thought about it for a moment and nodded.
"Thanks, Kagami. You're the best." Marinette said and gave me a quick hug before giving me the dragon choker and leaving my house.
Guess it's time to honour my word. I thought and transformed into Ryuko.
Present
"Well, Kagami? Give up?" Adrien asked.
I can't believe I had a crush on him. Not only his dad was Hawkmoth, but he's more than happy to take up his mantle. I thought to myself as I stood up and entered my stance.
"Still got some fight in you. You remind me of that punk, Isaac. Akuma's. Destroy her and bring me her miraculous." Adrien ordered.
One of the akuma's lunged at me, I quickly side stepped and stuck him with the hilt of my sword, knocking him out. Another swiped her sword at me. I parried the blade and kicked her aside. I kept fighting and defeating every single akuma until I had little to no strength left.
"Ryuko! Save yourself!" Mr Dupain-Cheng shouted.
"You can't fight them on your own!" His wife added.
"No. I made a promise to your daughter. And I intend on keeping it." I replied, brandishing my sword and summoning a large wave of fire in front of the akuma's forcing them to retreat.
"That should hold them." I sighed and went back to Marinette's parents.
Suddenly, a sharp pain emerged from my back. I looked back and saw a whip with the tip shaped like a scorpion's tail plunged into my back and jabbing my spine. A girl in a scorpion jumpsuit smirked at me.
"C-Cassie? Why?" I gasped.
"Wrong Scorpio, Dragon lady. I'm her replacement, Sting." She said, combing a hand through her blonde hair.
I tried to move but my body refused to obey. Sting removed her whip from my back and snatched my sword from my hand. Without hesitation, she plunge the sword into my leg. Pain flared as Sting removed the sword from my leg and tossed it aside. She snapped her fingers, releasing me from her spell. I fell to the ground, clutching my wounded leg.
"Adrien, why do this? What do you hope to accomplish from this?" I asked, struggling to ignore the pain in my leg.
Adrien picked me up buy the collar and glared at me. His eyes flared with bitterness and hatred.
"What do I hope to accomplish from this? Revenge against the people who took away my only hope of restoring my family. But, I still have another chance. Once Marinette returns to Paris, I will have her miraculous and grant my wish. Whenever she likes it or not." He said.
After what I saw the last time Hawkmoth succeeded obtaining the ladybug and black cat miraculous, I don't want the same thing happening again.
"You can't do this. I won't let you." I said.
Adrien chuckled and summoned a claw made out of destructive energy. He raised it above my head.
"Kagami. I already did." He said and swiped the claw at my head.
Suddenly, a web pulled me away from Adrien and onto the roof.
"Sorry we're late, Kagami." Isaac said.
Marinette, Luka, Chloe, Zoe, Nino, Alix and Alya stood next to him, glaring down at Adrien and his akumas.
"You got some nerve torturing my friend and attempting to kill my parents, Adrien." Marinette said.
"Says the one who's defending my father's killer!" Adrien retorted, pointing at Isaac.
Isaac clenched his fist in anger.
"You say that but you're the one who's been dealing aphrodisiac drugs. The same one you used on Cassie." He said.
"Hah! I don't know what you saw in her. But she's a naïve brat who would stab you in the back!" Adrien laughed.
"Bullshit! I was brainwashed! I would never do that to Isaac!" Cassie retorted.
"And you were a useful toy." Adrien said with a smirk.
"We'll deal with the akumas. You deal with Shadow Cat." Luka said, twirling his lyre.
"Fine by me." Marinette said, twirling her yo-yo.
I summoned a small flame and cauterized my wounded leg before joining the fight.
