Kai: "Hey"
"Hey", Yang replied without looking back as Kai stepped through the magic doorway and into the desert region.
Kai: "How you holding up?"
Yang: "Well...we have the Relic" she turned to face him, holding it up for him to see, a golden lamp with a bright blue glow.
Kai: "That's...good" Yang looked away and sighed, "My mom really left, didn't she?" Kai's face was downcast as he replied, "Yeah...I'm sorry" She sighed again, "It's okay. I should be used to it by now" Kai stared at Yang for a few moments before speaking, "Yang, I...I really am sorry about leaving you. I made you a promise and I broke it. It was selfish of me, and I didn't consider your feelings at all. You were right, maybe I do have a 'hero' complex, and I..." he was cut off abrubtly as Yang dropped the relic and rushed over and threw her arms around him, squeezing him tightly.
Yang: "I...I thought you were dead..." tears filled her eyes as she sobbed into his chest, "It was just like back then, on the bridge in Vale. The sight of you...just laying there...lifeless...it hurts me inside...so much" Kai stared down at Yang in surprise, before wrapping his arms around her, "It's okay Yang, I'm fine..."
Yang: "No it's not okay! All I could think of was that you'd die thinking I hated you!" She raised her head from his chest to stare him in the eyes, "But I don't hate you, Kai"
He raised a brow and smiled weakly at her, "Well...could've fooled me" Yang let out a small laugh before speaking again, "I was mad at you. Furious even. And the more time passed the more I wanted to stay mad at you. When I finally saw you again after all those months, I felt a lot of things. Hate wasn't one of them. But still, I ignored you because I wanted you to feel the same way I felt. But the real truth..." she raised her robotic hand to cup his face tenderly, "...the truth is that I love you, Kai. Even after all this time...I still love you"Kai: "Yang..." he quickly brought his lips forward to capture hers in a deep kiss, parting only to say the words, "I love you too" The two shared another kiss, deep in each other's embrace, and in that moment, all the fighting above them, the Relics, Salem, everything didn't matter. The two were all that existed in the world. And the world was bliss.

Lionheart burst through the doors leading into his office and hurried over to his desk, frantically opening the drawers. He paused behind the desk, and raised his eyes to the door, letting out a gasp of terror. Salem's Seer floated silently at the entrance to the office, tentacles waving menacingly.Salem: "And where might you be going?"
Lionheart: "Oh...Y-Your Grace! I-I was just looking for something" The Seer moved slowly into the room, Salem's voice sounding ever so clearly, "Leonardo. Do you have something you wish to tell me?" Lionheart stared down at his desk in contemplation, shaking slightly with fear, before finally speaking out, "It was Cinder! She altered the plan! Huntsmen showed up here; Qrow, and several students, including Kai and the one with the silver eyes. And speaking of Kai, Cinder killed him...b-but he came back somehow! And the White Fang attack, it was stopped! I-I don't know that they'll be able to recover the Relic..." Lionheart scurried around the desk towards the Seer as he pleaded, "Your Grace, I can still be of assistance! If I leave now, I can-I can avoid the authorities and come find you, I-I'll do whatever it takes!" The room was filled with silence as the Seer simply floated before Lionheart, without Salem uttering a word.
Lionheart: "Y-Your Grace?" Again he was answered with silence. His face then hardened with resolve and with a shout, he aimed his gauntlet weapon at the Seer, which was almost immediately swiped out of his hand to the ground with a tentacle. Leo looked on in terror, before turning into a desperate dash towards the door, but he was stopped in his tracks as a tentacle wrapped itself tightly around his left leg, pulling him to the ground as he screamed, "Please ma'am! I'll do anything! ANYTHING! PLEASE!" His cries went on, as the Seer wrapped him up in its tentacles, pulling him away from the door. There was a loud splurt, and Lionheart began to wheeze from where his throat had been slit, before dropping dead to the ground.

Salem sat on her throne in her lair, staring at the Seer on her own end. She scoffed in disgust, "Coward" She then shifted her gaze out the window, staring out into the blood red sky, "Now then...Cinder may have gone off track, but now I can feel our connection more than ever...Kai..." she smiled, "...We'll be seeing each other soon..."

~Haven Academy~
The fighters all stood still, taking some time to catch their breath. The battle had been intense, but it finally looked like Kai's friends had the advantage. The White Fang in the school had been apprehended by the Mistral police force, with the help of a small army of Faunus from Menagerie, and Adam Taurus was on the run. Lionheart had fled, leaving only Hazel, Emerald and Mercury. They were heavily outnumbered.
