You woke up on your side with what felt like the loudest fucking alarm in your ear. Turns out to just be Rodrick snoring. How charming. He also had one arm around your waist and the other underneath your neck, which was curled and was kind of choking you a little. My God, why is this boy so latched on? You try to get up without waking him, but it doesn't seem to work. Rodrick just pulls you back down. Even in his sleep, he's a clingy motherfucker.
Your head no longer hurts thanks to the Advil you took earlier. The sun was just rising which meant a normal wake up time for you. You definitely suspected that Rodrick was not an early riser. But maybe today was the day you could get him in the studio with his band and actually record the song they needed for their entry into Battle of the Bands.
Wait a fucking minute.
It was sunrise. Which meant you definitely spent the night at Rodrick Heffley's house. You quickly grab your phone to see if there were any missed calls or texts from your aunt. Zero. Wow Mabel, you may win aunt of the year with this level of effort. Seriously? Was anyone concerned you were having a sleepover with a boy? Sure he wasn't your boyfriend or anything, but did no one care a seventeen year old was in bed with a boy?
You were finally able to unwrap Rodrick from yourself which took some great effort. Looking around, Rodrick's room looks the same as it did last night. But it kind of presented a new problem for you. Rodrick's family only knew you came over last night after they left and probably assumed you went home before they came back. Because you knew Mrs. Heffley and especially Mr. Heffley would not allow Rodrick to have a girl sleepover.
So, how are you getting out of this?
Your main issue was that Rodrick lived in the attic, which meant that you were on the third story or like second and a half from the ground. While you trusted in your climbing skills, you weren't gonna risk breaking something. It was also...
Shit.
It was now Tuesday. Which meant the three day weekend was over and you had school today. Do you skip again or go? Did Rodrick's mom come and wake him up? What's supposed to be happening right now? Oh my God and you cried any ounce of makeup off and you hadn't even checked to see if your face was still red and puffy. What are you doing?
"[Y/N], you look like you're about to stroke out. What's going on?" You turn around and watch Rodrick sit half way up and rub his eyes.
"Rodrick, it's Tuesday. We have school. And we have to go today because Mrs. Baxter just gave us a gold star for being good students." You quickly move to where some of your things like your phone and shoes are and sit on the bed to put them on. It felt like your fingers couldn't no WOULDN'T cooperate to tie your shoe.
"I can drive us don't worry-" Rodrick fully sat up as you whip your head around to face him, a wild look in your eyes. Rodrick looks taken aback by your fierce gaze.
"Rodrick, listen to me. That's not what I'm worried about. How are we explaining to your mom that I slept over last night? I'm wearing the same clothes she saw me in last night. How are we getting to your van? Your mom literally tried to give me the safe sex speech!" You motion to your clothing which was the striped sweater and ripped jeans Mrs. Heffley saw you in. She's not the type to forget another woman's outfit. You watch as Rodrick's face drops and realize the dire situation you both had landed yourself in.
"Oh no. No, nononono. Look, we gotta figure out where in the house everyone is so we can find an escape route. My dad left for work already which leaves mom, Greg, and Manny. If mom sees us we are dead. If Greg sees us, he can't keep a secret to save his life. And if Manny sees us, he'll tattle so fast." Rodrick ran his fingers through his hair, messing it further.
