School really sucks. I hated every bit of it. My mommy however promised me books if I went to school and since I really wanted them, I did like she requested. Although, I am a misfit and only do things that are interesting. Mommy came to pick me up. 'Wait here, Mirage. I will be right back,' she said. I watched her pass me and walk up to Windblade. I turned up the volume of my audio to listen to their conversation. I figured out how that worked a couple of months ago. 'Mirage is not a really social sparkling. He's spending a lot of time on himself and he gets really rude and mean if an other sparkling approaches him.'

My mommy sighed. 'He's not reallt used to other sparklings,' she said. 'This is a problem. He'll never funcion good in society without social skills,' she said. 'He's a very sensitive mech. I will talk to him,' mommy said. I looked down at the ground. She seemed disapointed in me. Mommy walked up to me and grasped my servo. Without saying anything else, she brought me back home. 'Something wrong?' I asked as she opened the front door. She sighed. 'Just sit down on the couch,' she said. Like she asked, I sat down on the couch and waited for her.

'Listen, Mirage. I am done arguing with you about primary programming. You are going to school and you will try your best,' she said. 'You don't understand. It's boring and I can do so much more,' I snapped. 'It's not about that. It's about making friends and playing with other sparklings,' she said. 'So if I have friend, I can do something useful?' I snapped. 'don't talk to me like that, Mirage,' she warned. 'I am better than them anyway,' I scowled. She sighed and shook her helm. 'You will not get anywhere with arrogance, Mirage,' she said. I ignored her and looked away. 'I am going to read,' I muttered and walked upstairs, grabbing my teddybear and settled on my bed with a book.

That night, I had a bad dream and woke up crying. Mommy walked in and sat down on the edge. 'You had a bad dream?' she asked. I cried and nodded. 'What did you dream?' she asked. 'You died...' I whispered. 'Leaving you behind? That's out of the question,' she snorted and kissed my helm. She laid beside me and pulled me closer. 'I wouldn't leave you,' she stated. I shut my optics. 'I am right here,' she whispered. I listened to her strong heartbeat.

She was still next to me when I woke up the following morning. 'You slept well?' she asked. I gave a small nod and hugged her. 'We need to get up,' she said and helped me up. I sighed and sat down at the dinning table. 'I have something exciting.' I snorted. 'Yeah?' I glanced at her. 'This weekend... you have a change to meet, Jazz.' I perked my head up. 'Jazz? Really?!' I asked. I felt my spirit coming back. 'Yeah, you'd like to meet him?' she asked. I nodded rapidly. 'There's a festival and I heard he would come.' Mommy really made my day and mood. I had finally something to look out for.

That weekend, I was jumping in excitement to finally meet Jazz in person. 'Daddy! Mommy, hurry up,' I complained. 'Relax, Mirage. We will be in time,' daddy said. Mom grasped my servo and led me outside towards downtown Kaon. There was music and a lot of bots. 'Where is Jazz?' I asked. 'He'll come on... come on, this way.' Mommy led me through the crowd. I heard Jazz's voice and freed myself from my mother. 'Mirage!' Mommy shouted but I didn't hear her. I looked with big optics as Jazz. He was talking to a lot of big mechs and femmes. I tried to sneak between them and get a closer look. I got pushed aside by a mech. 'Piss off,' he sneered. I flinched and backed off, hitting someone. 'Watch out,' the femme snapped. I looked around to see if I could find my mommy somewhere.

'Give him some space.'

I looked up as the group split. Jazz crouched down. I looked at him before hugging him. He chuckled. 'Nice to meet you too, little one,' he said and picked me up. He sat me down on a wall and studied me for a moment. 'What's your name?' he asked. 'I am Mirage,' I stated. 'Oh, beautiful name. You know who I am, huh?' he asked. I nodded, 'I wanna be just like you one day,' I stated. He laughed. 'I bet you will... I see a very strong mech,' he said. I started smiling widely. 'You think?' I asked. He nodded, 'of course.' He ruffled my helm. I giggled. 'Mirage,' my mother snapped. 'I am really sorry,' my mother said. 'Oh, it's fine,' Jazz said and waved his servo.

'You can't run off, Mirage,' mommy said. 'I am sorry,' I apologized before turning back towards Jazz. 'You are head of specops, right?' I asked. He seemed to be surprised. 'I am... you really are a smartone, huh?' he asked. A smile formed on my lip-plating. 'You have a very special boy there, miss,' Jazz said. I felt so proud and looked at my mommy. 'Yeah, I know,' she said and smiled at me while rubbing my helm. 'You will get there, little one. As long as you follow your spark,' Jazz said. 'Jazz?' The mech turned his head. My optics widened. A huge black Autobot approached. The biggest mech I have ever seen for so far. He had a lot of cannons and weapons. 'Hello kiddo.'

'This is Ironhide... weapons specalist,' Jazz introduced. 'Hi,' I chirped. I reached out for him. Ironhide approached and let me touch his cannons. 'They are so big.' He chuckled. 'Do you kill bots with that?' I asked. He shook his head. 'No, killing is wrong. I use them for shooting practise. I am in the army, just like Jazz,' he said and pointed at him. 'Oh, the army?' I asked. He nodded and ruffled my helmet. 'Do you know Optimus Prime as well?' I asked. Ironhide and jazz nodded. 'We work with him,' Jazz replied. I got more and more excited. 'Is he kind?' I asked. 'Of course he is. When Sentinel Prime stops, he'll be a great Prime,' Ironhide said.

I could take a phot with both mechs and got a hug before they left. I smiled at mommy. She poked my nose softly. 'Don't run off,' she warned. She wrapped her arms around me and picked me up, holding me on her hip while walking through the thick crowds. 'You see... Jazz went to school as well and now he meets the most famous mechs on the planet,' she said. I looked at her. 'School doesn't teach you that kind of stuff,' I snorted. 'School teaches you a lot for later. Even it doesn't always seems like that...'
