'Who are you?'
I spotted the Decepticon symbol on his chassis and backed off, stumbling over my own feet and fell. 'Stay away from me,' I snapped. 'Easy kiddo.' He approached. 'You're in a bad state, you'll die if you don't allow me to help you. You're temperature is too low and your systems are damaged,' he said before scooping me up. 'You're a Decepticon,' I muttered as he carried me in the opposite direction. He didn't respond and my systems shut down.
When I woke up, I was wrapped up in a blanket next a fire place. The blue flames lit up the entire room and warmed up my exposed frame. I lifted my helm up. The old mech sat down, studying me. 'Why did you help me?' I asked. 'Because you needed it,' he said. I laid my helm back down on the pillow. 'But Decepticons hurt Autobots,' I said quietly. 'I don't hurt Autobots. They have the same rights as everyone else and why would I hurt a young mech like you?' He asked. I thought about for a moment. 'Where's your amor?'
'Brawl took it... he ripped it off.'
He sighed, 'Brawl is a cold hearted mech,' he sighed. 'Shall I call your parents?' He asked. 'My mom is dead and my dad... he'll be dead soon,' I muttered. 'I am sorry.' I looked at him again. 'Do you serve Megatron?' I asked. 'I have served someone far worse...' he said. Interested I glanced at him. Who could possibly be worse than Megatron?
'The Decepticons only want power and death. That has always been their goal. Megatron wants to use the lowest Decepticons in society to build an army. Their factories are building large weapons,' he said. 'They want to start a war, but no one believes me,' I mumbled. 'How do you know?'
I shrugged and fiddled with the quilt. 'What's your name kid?''Dino...'
'I am Jetfire... what do you know about them?' He asked. 'How do I know I can trust you? How do I know this isn't a set up?' I asked. 'If I wanted you dead, I would've done that already,' he said. I sat up, 'I am spying on them... for several years. I need to talk to Optimus Prime. Is he still in Kaon?' I asked. The mech shook his helm. 'No, not anymore... he headed towards Cybertropolis,' he said.
'No... no, no, no... that city was on the list they wanted to attack first. I hacked Megatron's frame, they are building a virus. There live 10 thousand bots in that city and they all will die. It's an attack on Optimus, Megatron wants him dead but doesn't want the clue to lead back to him. He wants to grab power... a few months ago, Ultra Magnus and Sentinal Prime got badly injured after they were lured out Kaon to an industrial terrain. Someone called and they went there. I listened to the phone call and later the news showed up on the TV. The attack was a failure of course, so they have been planning something bigger. If Optimus is dead, everything will fall apart and all the Autobots will end up dead or will be used as slaves.'
I sat up. 'We need to go to Cybertropolis and warn Optimus. Please, can you help me?'
'Can I ask who your father was?' He asked. I was taken back by the questioned. 'Suncharger is my dad,' I said. 'I already thought that. Your father is a brilliant spy, one of the greatest. I worked with him and the things he achieved had a huge impact Cybertron.' I flashed him a weak smile. 'I will get your armor back... stay here. Take a shower.' I nodded and watched him get up and leave.
I got up and limped over to the bathroom. Jetfire had stopped most my wounds to stop bleeding, but I needed to see a doctor. I stepped in the shower stall, washing myself. My valve was quite painful and still bleeding. I tried not to think about it and shut my optics for a moment.
When I hopped out and dried myself, Jetfire had returned with my armor. I watched him, his armor was different than mine in many ways. 'What do you transform in?' I asked. 'A jet...' he replied without looking. I had never really scanned a vehicle before. 'You know the city is guarded by the Maximals, right?' I nodded, 'yeah, I read it in the files. 'Optimus probably headed for Maximal Defense Command Center. We should hurry,' I said while placing everything back in place. It was quite dented but I couldn't change anything about that right now.
'Take some extra Energon.'
I walked over to the kitchen. 'Do you have an alternate mode?' He asked. 'No, not yet... I hadn't found the right vehicle yet,' I sighed. 'Scan a car, I don't have time to read h you how to fly properly,' he said. Glanced slightly at him, 'you'll be much faster than I am,' I said. 'Yes, but you will also be visible on the Decepticon radar once you become airborne. We all have an identification code, if we don't have, you'll get chased down my cops. It's a new law,' he said. 'And ground vehicles don't need a code?' I asked. 'Not yet,' he replied.
I scanned a cybertronian sports car. My first alt-mode ever and I was kinda proud of it. I transformed and hit the road. I would meet Jetfire later. I tried to communicate but my systems were too damaged for that. I couldn't change anything about that right now. I drove towards our first meeting point which took all day for me to arrive. As I got there, Jetfire gestured me to quickly and quietly follow him. He pushed me against a wall and gestured at the passing Decepticons. I had never seen them before.
'They're all heading for Cybertropolis,' he hissed quietly. 'They're definitely up to something,' I muttered,— mostly to myself. 'They're mobilizing quickly.' Jetfire took me inside the building. We had a room on the first floor of the motel. He shut the blinds and curtains before he finally replaced a little bit. 'This is more serious than thought,' he said. I nodded, 'yeah, but I already knew that. We should travel tonight.'
Jetfire shook his helm. 'No, Dino. You need rest. Your frame is damaged, okay? You have been through a lot the last 24 hours and you drove for quite some time. Just lay down and recharge for a couple of hours. Otherwise you'll make mistakes you're going to regret,' he said. I knew he was right, my optics felt heavy but on the other hand, Inwas scared. 'I will stay up and wait,' he said. It gave me some comfort so I gave in and laid down.
Jetfire peeked out of the window. I had to trust him, there's no turning back now. I had to speak to Optimus Prime and warn him before thousand of bots will die.
