I've been wandering on the streets for months. Barely had enough food, heavily underweight. My injured were infected. Especially my leg was sore and painful. I rubbed the infected area, trying to smooth the pain. It even smelled horrible. Most wires were exposed by now.

I flinched as my tummy rumbled again. I tried to seek for food but no one gave anything. I sat against the a building, staring at the road. I wish Ratchet came back. The other day I knocked on his door but no one opened up. Guess he's still fighting somewhere.

I tried to see the positive side. I started to spy on bots. Gangs, Decepticons and I was good at it. But lately, I really started to feel weak. I looked at my damaged teddybear. I wanted someone to repair him but no one wanted to help me. My paint job had faded, my Autobot symbol was damaged and lost its color. They thought I am a Decepticon and Autobots don't like Decepticons.

I looked up to the sky as rain stated to pour down. It's been like this for days. I got up and started limping, towards Ratchet's place and settled in front of the door. I waited.

At the fourth day, I heard something and perked my helm up. The medic had returned. Hope filled my stomach as I crawled back on my ped and limped towards him. 'Mirage! What happened to you!' He crouched down and picked me up. I tightly hugged him. I never wanted to let him go again. 'It hurt,' I whispered. He opened the door to his apartment and sat me down on the counter in the kitchen.

'That's bad,' he sighed. 'What happened?' I looked away. I didn't want to talk about it. 'Let's get you to the hospital,' he said and picked me up. He took me with him after he bandaged my damaged leg and carried me towards the hospital. He gently removed all of my amor, exposing my heavily underweight protoform. He shook his helm and muttered something under his breath. 'Can you help my teddybear as well?'

I held the two pieces up. 'I will.' He took it from me. 'But first I am going to help you,' he said. The door opened and a mech strode in. 'This is Red alert, he'll help me, is that okay?' I anxiously looked at the sign on his chest. He's an Autobot. I gave a small nod. 'Hey little one.'
'This is Mirage. He's an orphan,' Ratchet said. 'Hi, Mirage. Nice to meet you.' The mech flashed me a smile and rubbed my helm. At first, I flinched, scared he'll hurt me too but Ratchet I as there. He wouldn't let anyone hurt me.

The mechs gently started to clean my wounds and even operated my leg. When I woke up, I saw my teddybear and Ratchet had fixed him. I curled up and hugged him. 'How do you feel?' Ratchet looked over the racks of the sparkling bed. They made sure I couldn't get out. 'I feel okay.'
He nodded. 'I want you to meet someone.' A femme walked up to me. 'This is Chromia. She's Ironhide's sparkmate, and she just lost her sparkling,' Ratchet said. I looked at her. She had the same look my mommy always used to give me.

'Hey little one.'

She picked me up, holding me in her arms. 'She'll take care of you,' Ratchet said. I glanced at him. 'She's nice. Don't worry and we will see each other more often. Ironhide is my best friend. You need a femme and a mech,' he said, rubbing my helm. I looked at Chromia again. 'Nice to meet you,' I murmured. She smiled and kissed my helm. 'Shall we go home?' She asked. I gave a small hesitant nod.

She walked out of the room and carried me over the streets. I was really tired and glad I didn't had to walk. The house was nice, quite large as well. A garden I could play in. It reminded me of my old home at the lake. Chromia gently sat me down on the couch. 'You must be hungry,' she said. I nodded and curled up on the couch. 'I smell sweet Energon,' I said as she got up. Mommy couldn't give me sweet Energon for long. She wanted it, but her frame stopped producing it a few months after I was born.

I spotted Ironhide walking in. 'Hey kiddo.' I smiled. 'How's your leg doing?' He asked. 'It's okay,' I said. 'He wants sweet Energon,' Chromia said. Ironhide shrugged, 'you need to get rid of it and if he wants it,' Ironhide said, waving his servo. Chromia snorted before sitting back down and pulled me on her lap. She removed her breasts plating and let me drink. Sparklings often get sweet Energon to a certain age. It's good for their systems and processors. Or, that's what my mommy told me.

As I was full, she laid me in bed. She stayed me until I was in recharge. The next morning, she picked me up and woke me up with it. She fed me again and gave me a bath. I felt much better and walked after her the entire day. I didn't want to lose anyone that is nice to me again. 'Where are you going?' She turned. 'I am going to visit some good friends,' she said. 'Can I come.'

She gently picked me up. 'You'd like that?' She asked. I nodded. "Alright, let's go then.' She took me towards a cafe, where a couple of other femmes were as well. 'He's so cute!' One purred. Chromia was obviously the oldest of the three femmes. 'This is Mirage,' Chromia said, holding my servo. 'Cute mech.' Chromia sat down and pulled me on her lap. 'I didn't know you adopted this little mech.'

'Ratchet approached me. He's an orphan. His mother was murdered and his father is missing. Ratchet took care of him for some time but when he had to help Optimus, he was sent to his aunt and uncle. They abused him.' She wrapped her arms around my waist. 'He's the cutest mech ever. Why would someone hurt him?' Chromia sighed and looked down at me. 'I don't know.'

'Mirage, this is Moonracer, Arcee and Strika,' she introduced. I waved shyly at them. I got some Energon pie, which was a huge treat for me. I listened to their talks until the name Soundwave fell. 'Oh, him...' Chromia looked down at me. 'What is it with him?' Chromia asked as she gently rubbed my helm. 'He's an evil mech,' I said. 'You can't say that, Mirage. You don't know him and he has done a lot of things for us.'

'He's planning an attack on the south side of Kaon,' I said between my bites. 'You definitely have a wild imagination, huh,' she said. I shrugged and ate my last piece. She grabbed a napkin and wiped my mouth clean. 'He's a little underweight, isn't he?' Moonracer said after intense staring. 'He'll be fine.'

'Hey, Mirage?'

I hummed. 'There's another mech of your age over there, you'd like to meet him?' She asked. I instantly shook my head, burying my face in her tummy. 'No.' She rubbed my helm. 'Why not? Don't you wanna play with another sparkling?' She asked. 'I said no! I hate them!' I snapped. 'You haven't met him yet,' she said. I looked away. She center softly and rubbed my helm.
