i passed the corner of the street stopping in my tracks when i saw john b yeet over a bike chain "charley run its DCS!" he shouted.
and that's all it took for me to sprint as fast as i could into the nearest building, the gym.
the sense of someone towering over me caused me to turn around "rafe hey" i said attempting to be fake friendly after what happened at the golf course.
"what are you doing here char?" the boy had a puzzled look on his face.
i attempted to throw some words together forming a sentence which didn't even make sense "uh just at the gym you know"
i looked to the side laughing slightly until he saw the car with the police officer and the social worker.
he then proceeded to grab my arm and pull me behind a wall "where do you need to go?" he asked abruptly making me stutter for a moment.
"kie's house" i answered nervously before he took me to his car and offered to drop me off.
not wanting to be rude i accepted his offer and sat in the passenger seat of the car putting on my seatbelt anxiously.
the older boy began driving towards the middle section of figure eight. the drive there was quiet, although there's not much for a kook and pogue to talk about.
rafe cameron was a confusing guy, changed his attitude every second. one moment he's beating up pope at the golf course and the next he's helping me escape DCS.
we pulled up to the carrera household and he switched off the car engine.
"why did you help me rafe?" i asked breaking the silence that ricocheted through the space around the two of us "like i'm a pogue, you're a kook"
he cleared his throat running his hand through this hair "i had nothing else to do" he said looking down.
i nodded smiling at him slightly before stepping out of the car "thanks for the ride polo boy" i spoke seeing him smile back a little.

"aren't you guys glad i made you come" kiara's eyes lit up as jj, pope and i walked with her towards the big screen.
it was the obx movie night and families and friends sat down on the faded green grass to gather kooks and pogues together in union. "ecstatic" pope said bluntly.
