Lucy looked skeptically at the car. "Natsu, why are we supposed to steal this car?"

The pink haired man shrugged. "I dunno, because we can? C'mon Luce, you know it'll be fun."

Still frowning, the busty blonde bit her lip. "Still, I'm not so sure about this. What if, I dunno, the cops got us?"

Natsu just grinned. "Don't worry, I can take care of that. So whaddaya say?"

She sighed. Obviously she was losing the battle here, so she may as all give in now before Natsu began using his puppy dog eyes and made Lucy make a fool of herself.

He reached into his picket and grabbed out a lock pick, sticking it into th nan gal lock of the car. After a minute or so of twisting and turning, the thing clicked and the car door swung easily open, no sign of an alarm.

"See? No problem! Now get in, and let's see what they can do with this bad baby."

Lucy crawled in, scooted over the console and plopped down on the expensive leather seat. She didn't bother to put her seatbelt on- if she and Natsu were going to break a big law by stealing this damned car, she figured that nobody would give a shit about whether or not she had her seatbelt on or not.

"This is comfy!" she said to Natsu as the pink haired man was messing with thevcar's wiring in order to get it to turn on. "If we bought a car this damned expensive, we'd definitely need seating like this."

Natsu nodded, not seeming to pay her words much attention until the car's engine roared to life, purring like a kitten. He sat up and grinned at her, and Lucy couldn't help but grin back. That was the way of things when she was around Natsu.

"Even easier than I thought," he noted, placing his hands on the wheel and feet on the pedals. "So let's get on out there and have some fun!"

Pressing down on the gas, Natsu backed out of his parking spot, slowly. "I don't want to wreck the car just yet," he explained to Lucy. "I'd rather have a bit of fun first. If need be we can always just steal another car, you know." The girl laughed, and he smiled that special little smile of his.

After what seemed like forever, he was facing a thin metal gate at the bottom of a steep hill. The car that they'd stolen was from a rich house, and a gated one at that. Lucy paled slightly, though, looking over at Natsu. "You're not going to do what I think you're going to do, are you?" she asked, voice squeaking slightly.

He just grinned. "You bet I am, Luce."

"Don't you- ACK!" the blonde yelped, leaning back into her seat as he slammed his foot onto the gas pedal, zooming down towards the metal gate.

"Natsuuuuuuu!" she screamed, closing her eyes tightly. There was a giant shock as their car crashed into the gate, and a screech as the metal gave way. Apparently the gate had been somewhat internally dusted, so the car hadn't sustained too much damage, but Lucy was shaking, covering her eyes and trembling. "My GOD Natsu are you trying to get us killed?!" she yelled, slapping the pink haired man. "That was fucking STUPID!"

Natsu just laughed. "That wasn't stupid- that was fun! C'mon, don't tell me that wasn't the least bit exciting." She stared at him reproachfully, but he just rolled his eyes. "Hey, if we get to town I promise we can steal whatever car you want to okay?"

"Is that supposed to be some sort of consolation prize?"

*. *. *. *. *.

"That one?"

Lucy groaned. "No."

"How about that one?"

"Absolutely not. It's fucking ugly, if you couldn't see."

Her breath caught. Coming towards them, occupied by two teenage boys, was a silver Porsche convertible. "That one," she said matter of factly, pointing towards it. "If you want me to steal a car, it has to be that one."

Natsu laughed. "Alright then, Princess. On my count, jump out of this car towards that one!"

The girl stared at him, openmouthed. "Wait WHAT-"

"3..."

"Natsu-"

"2..."

She paused and unbuckled her seatbelt. If Natsu was going through with this, she didn't want to be left in the dust.

"1... Now go!"

They both launched themselves out of the car they were currently in, and jumped directly in front of the silver Porsche. Lucy and Natsu worked together as an instinctive team, him leaping for the driver's side and her for the passenger, throwing open the doors and pulling the boys out onto the street (luckily, neither was wearing a seatbelt so it was relatively easy, especially if you added in the fact that they had the element of surprise). The two of them leaped in, and Natsu put his foot to the pedal. Revving the gas, he sped away, much to the shock of onlookers.

Sirens could be heard in the distance, and Lucy turned worriedly to her friend. "Natsu..." she muttered worriedly.

He grinned. "Don't worry, Luce. We'll get out of here without being tossed into prison." Foot to the pedal, he zoomed through the streets, turning and retracing his steps until even Lucy, who had lived in this city for ages, was all turned about. Eventually the sounds of the police sirens faded in the distance, and then were cut off altogether. They found themselves ready to turn onto a highway, and a Natsu momentarily stalled the car. She let out a shuddering breath, clutching her hands to her chest.

"I thought we were goners," she muttered.

Natsu slapped Lucy on the back with a chuckle. "You see it now, don't you Luce? Just how fun being bad really is?"

Despite herself Lucy laughed. A real laugh. "For once you're actually right, Natsu," she said, throwing her head back and hitting it lightly on the headrest of the stolen car. "It's quite a bit of fun. A lot, actually."

He didn't even bother to reply, knowing as he did how correct he had been. So instead he pressed on the gas pedal and made the engine roar as the two of them zoomed off down the highway into the rapidly darkening night. There was no point in resting, or even stopping for the night. No fun in that, was there?

Besides, there would always be more cars to steal and games to be played along the way.
