skating to the college, the outside view of the rink enticed her. god she loved that place so much that it was basically calling out her name from a mile away. "yo gyu" she turned back to the male behind her. clearly not focusing on the road in front of him.
"uh, yeah?"
"is it okay if we take a detour at the rink?" putting his foot down onto the ground, she slowly realized and stopped as well. walking over to him, she placed her hand on her chin tilting her head. "what's the problem yuyu?"god how much he didn't want to go back there. but she was just so keen and it was something she loved. but he didn't love it at all either so why should he compromise with a dumbass like her? shivering at the thought of the team still being there and him having to walk in? absolutely not.
"if you're worried about people being there, the team should've dissolved half an hour ago." she snickered at his stressed expression. somehow that relieved his nonexistent stress as he hesitantly nodded. "fine whatever lets go."
...
tracing her hand onto the handle of the backdoor. her eyes gleamed as she pulled open the doors of the rink. a wave of cool hair blew onto her face as she bowed formally to the other. letting him enter the place first.
he rolled his eyes as he slowly held his breath. entering the old rink that he abandoned all those months ago. "ah this place is so nice feeling" she stretched happily as walked over to the benches. placing her board carefully on it and sitting back beside it.
"let me go grab my skates and you wait here yeah?" the other simply complied, not having much to do anyways. passing by the open doors of the inside entrance, she flinched as she saw the two standing there. sola and yeonseo. they seemed to be having fun it seemed.
clearly not noticing her as they walked off from there, hearing the older's laughter made her stomach hurt a lot. like. a lot a lot. it was so painful, ducking into the locker rooms, she grabbed her skates from her cubby and brought them out to the other. "looky looky." she smiled happily.
he rolled his eyes, checking his phone as she slipped them on. waddling over to the barrier and placing her guards on them. she rebalanced herself as she kicked forward. "did you know i love dpr ian?" she spun around, skating at the outer edges of the ice. "no way, what a shocker."
doing her usual warmups, she skated into a perfect entrance to a salchow. feeling light and less heavy than usual. the male watched emptily. a part of him could feel him want to be in that position. he knew it was a bad idea to go back here.
let alone watch someone perform with such joy. balancing as she reached out. gliding to the center of the rink and spinning in place, transitioning to a crouch spin in one motion. rising back to full height as she skated backwards to the edge of the barrier.
"how was that yuyu?" leaning against the barrier with a large smile. she loved showing people some of her favourite moves. he shrugged, masking his social need to talk about how good she was at figure skating from his inner figure skating.
"was cool i guess."
she whined at the words, kicking her skates against the ice. "i will throw my skates at you, don't play." she shook her head, pushing off the barrier and skating backwards. tying her hair up into a ponytail as she spun into a toe loop."yo yo, let me go get the extra skates in the back, what's your size?" she clapped excitedly. his shocked expression made her laugh as she slipped on her guards. "give me your size." pursing his lips into a thin line, he shook his head, not wanting to trip up by accident.
laughing at his face, she pushed him lightly, "come on, are you chicken because you've never gone ice skated before?" she laughed jokingly, taking his arm and pulling him up to stand. "275." he muttered pushing her off of him. he hated how he could tell how this was gonna go.
...
the feeling of the skates being on him made him want to throw up. this was exactly why he hid his under his bed for him to forget only to remember and know where it is at all time. "come on rags." she laughed, pulling him into the rink. his balance was off and he could tell more or less.
clasping their hands together, his breath hitched as he held on. staring down at the ice and all the skate marks that littered its surface. "you know that one song from steven universe, yeah that's all i can hear right now." she admitted as she spun them around.
"bro which one why do you have to be so vague-"
"you'd do it for her, that is to say, you'd do it for him" she hummed with a smile, unclasping their hands and skating backwards away from him as she held up a peace sign. rolling his eyes, he ran his hand through his hair as he pushed forwards.tracing an in and out motion with his feet as he skated towards her. "so you can skate? well i guess that comes with coordination with your skateboard." she stated blankly, oblivious to who he truly was.
shrugging he skated like he did when he was told to have fun, flipping on his heel to change directions. watching her slid past him as he skated. tucking his hands into his pockets as he pushed forward and forward. moving in a zigzag formation.
subconsciously, he could feel the crowd watching him. he could feel the stage lights that made his skin glow. he could feel it all, the feeling was so addicting to him that he could feel himself relearning everything he learned in all his years of figure skating.
forgetting where he was, he leaned on the side of his skate as he spread his arms, turning and hopping into an toe loop as he landed. realizing what he did, he opened his eyes and snapped around to look for the now shocked female. she was baffled, confused and baffled.
"yo, who are you?" in her confusion she voiced out the words she wanted to say out in her thick australian accent. he knew he fucked up when she stood there, no longer as joyful as she was a few minutes prior. "uhm.."
"i gotta go." he rushed out of the rink, shaking off the skates and putting on his shoes. not caring whether or not he creased them, he picked up his skateboard and ran back into the building. "who the fuck is he?" she voiced out, now alone in the middle of the rink by herself.
