Alastor's POV

After Charlie came back down from her talk with Aria, I went over to her quickly.

"How is she? Is she ok? Did she eat the food I gave her?" I asked her, my questions coming fast.

Charlie chuckled softly.

"She's fine...I just explained to her what the hotel does, and yes, she did eat the food you made for her," Charlie said with a teasing smirk.

I rolled my eyes, but felt relief that she had eaten.

I sighed softly, and just then the front door to the hotel busted open.

All heads swiveled to the front, and Angel Dust walked in, his head down as he looked at his phone.

"Hey, whores, I hope you didn't miss me too-" his words cut off when he looked up and he met my eyes immediately.

"Holy fucking shit. Smiles?" He said, and he smiled before quickly shaking it off and glaring at me.

"The fuck are you doin' back here? I thought you quit to go do hell knows what," he said, sauntering over with a set of hands on his hips, the other set crossed over his chest.

I lowered my eyelids, "hello, Angel, always a pleasure. I was away for personal reasons, but I'm back now," I said simply.

He looked me up and down.

Then his face split into a smirk, and he lazily pointed at me, "s' the "personal reason" that broad you were fuckin?" He asked bluntly and a short record scratch left my throat.

Charlie, who was still standing next to me, quickly put her hand over her mouth to stifle a laugh. I shot her a glare and she looked away and whistled innocently.

At this moment I was thankful for how late it was. No one was currently around to hear what he just said.

"I'd prefer if you weren't so forward," I growled, "but yes...however, since you knew about her before everyone else, I'd like to have a word with you, spider," I said lowly.

That caught Charlie's attention.

"Why did you tell Angel?" She asked me curiously and I sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of my nose.

"It was less of me telling him, and more of him invading my privacy," I grumbled, and Charlie seemed to understand, then.

I then briefly explained to Angel what was happening. He already knew about her, anyway, so it would just be easier if he knew the whole story.

That way, if he lets anything slip I can rightfully skin him.

When I was finished, his mouth was open in shock.

"So that's why ya neva brought her around tha hotel..." he said, and then scoffed slightly.

"Holy shit, Al, that's fuckin intense..." he mumbled.

I hummed, "yes...and Angel Dust, if you say a word to her or anyone else in this hotel about this, I will introduce you to your second death, my friend," I threatened him with a wide smile.

He looked at me, arms crossed and a bored expression.

"Uh, yea...sure ya will," he said flatly, and then rolled his eyes, "but whateva, I won't tell her that you're a complete simp," he waved his hand and I cocked an eyebrow.

A...what?

I decided to just file it away as an insult, glaring at him. He shrugged and walked off.

"Well, goodnight. Glad to have ya back, pimp," he said, waving over his shoulder. I watched him disappear around a corner, and then looked back to Charlotte.

She gave me a soft smile.

"Just give it a little time, Al," she said softly, "if she loved you then...she probably still loves you now...you just gotta remind her," she finished sweetly, giving me a gentle smile.

She then turned, "goodnight," she said, and I nodded slightly.

"Goodnight, princess..." I replied quietly. My brows furrowed, then, and I tapped my foot as I thought.

I should go check on her...

Without a second thought, I teleported up to the fourth floor, standing in front of her door. I hummed softly, reaching forward and grabbing the doorknob.

Then I hesitated. It takes my brain a moment to remind itself that she sees me as a stranger, now.

If I were to walk in on her changing, she would undoubtedly not be too fond of me afterwords.

So I pulled my hand back, knocking softly on the door. I waited for a response, checking to see if I could hear anything on the other side.

There was rustling, and then soft footsteps. The door clicked as she opened it, and her eyes lifted to meet mine.

She had barely opened the door, peeking out at me through a small crack. However, once she saw that it was me, she opened it a bit wider.

"Hello, dear," I said, and she averted her eyes from mine.

"H-hi..." she said, her voice sounding small.

"I was just checking on you...making sure you're alright..." I said, and she nodded.

"I'm good...uh...thanks," she said, and I tilted my head.

"Whatever for, dear?"

"For bringing me here...u-uh I know, I don't really know you, and I don't...I haven't met many nice people..." she said, her voice falling off.

"And I'm...I'm sorry for punching you in the face earlier, and...kneeing you in the dick...and scratching you..." she listed all of the assaults she did to me.

I waved her apology off, "oh, honey, don't apologize...looking back at it, I can see how you must have been feeling very cornered," I said and she smiled softly.

My cheeks heated up at the sight, and I quickly cleared my throat and kept talking.

"Besides, it's good to be a fighter in hell..."

It's probably how you survived all this time...

"Yea," she chuckled softly, "but still, you tried to explain you were only trying to help, and I...I just wanted to let you know I'm sorry for the way I reacted," she said and this time I bowed my head slightly.

"Apology accepted, sweetheart," I said, knowing she'll feel better if I say that. I was correct, her guilty look lessening.

"Cool..." she breathed out, and then looked up into my eyes, "did you...need anything else?" She asked me softly, and I looked down at her for a moment.

I wanted nothing more than to grab her and kiss her. I wanted to hold her close to me, feeling her warmth.

I wanted to lay down in bed with her, falling asleep to the sound of her gentle heartbeat.

I wanted to fall to my knees under her stare...I wanted to tell her how much I love her.

I wanted to tell her I'm sorry.

I wish I could tell her I'm sorry...

My smile softened, and I shook my head.

"No...goodnight, Aria," I said, and she nodded.

"Goodnight."

And then she closed the door.
