Aria's POV

Slowly my eyes opened.

I felt like I was surrounded by heaven.

With a soft groan, I stretched out, and cuddled closer to the soft cloud I'd woken up on. Did I double die and end up in heaven last night?

A few more moments of bliss lasted before my eyes shot open the second I remembered everything that happened.

I sat up, looking around the room. Everything was the same...so I hadn't imagined that.

My fingers absentmindedly brushed over the soft comforter I was laying under, and I took in my surroundings.

Soft morning light flowed in through the curtains, giving my room a calm pink glow.

I forgot how nice it is to...wake up in a bed.

Without thinking I reached over next to me, as if I were expecting a person to be there. When my hand met a flat, empty surface, my brain felt confused.

Shouldn't there be someone else here?

Then I blinked and shook my head. No? Why would there be?

Shaking off the weird feeling, I got up and made my way to the bathroom. I got ready for the day, actually fixing my hair for the first time in a year.

I fixed the large shirt I was wearing and checked my appearance. I look much better than I did yesterday, and hopefully today I can properly introduce myself to these people.

I'm not one hundred percent sure I can trust them yet...if hell has taught me anything, it's that you can't trust anyone.

But even if I don't trust them, I have reason to thank them and be grateful.

I just barely survived the cleanse. I'm not sure I could handle many more years of that...

After I was finished in the mirror, I headed down to the lobby. As soon as I exited my room, I looked both ways.

These hallways are long, showing me that this hotel is probably huge. The red carpet felt interesting, even through my socks I could feel how scratchy it is.

Making my way towards the elevator, I observed all the details. The wallpaper was intricate, holding a design of an elephant balancing on a ball, and around that was a swirling border.

That pattern repeated across the entire wall.

Finally I made it to the elevator, and stepped into it. The elevator itself seemed a bit worn, but other than that it was nice.

A soft ding let me know I'd reached my destination. The doors opened to reveal a calm, quiet lobby.

The light streaming in through the many stained glass windows painted the large open foyer in beautiful colors. My mouth fell open as I walked out and looked around.

I marveled at how the dust caught the light, floating leisurely. Everything is so...calm.

Taking my time, I looked over everything. The hotel itself seemed nice enough. The lobby was simple...a few couches here and there.

I noticed a bar, the lights were off and it was dark. I'm alone in this lobby.

Making my way over to the paintings on the wall, I looked at them curiously. A family portrait with Charlie caught my eye.

She was standing between a man and a woman, the man looking a lot like her. They were dressed like royalty, and I tilted my head. Then I read the plaque.
