Narrator POV
Zip was terrified. His little heart was beating a million miles a minute.
He was sure the radio demon was going to kill him. The way he was looking at him was with pure, burning hatred.
But the exact second Aria hit the fireplace, Alastor forgot all about the little shadow. The events after were a blur to him, he hid in the shadows and simply watched.
Zip blamed himself for the events, and felt like it was his fault that Aria was unconscious. He could hardly stand to look at her.
She looked as if nothing had ever happened, but that didn't make the guilt go away.
Suddenly, his head felt fuzzy and the little shadow creature prepared to face the one man who scared him even more than the radio demon does.
"Report." Xander growled deeply, sounding completely and utterly livid.
Zip trembled just off that alone, but begrudgingly reported the latest events. Xander was silent, and then burst into laughter.
"How delightful!" He cackled, "where is he now?" He asked, and zip quickly followed where he had seen the radio demon walk off to.
The sound of his voice brought Zip to the kitchen, and Alastor was on the phone.
"I guarantee that's the princess," Xander growled, "the little wench got the better of me."
Zip simply listened to the conversation, and then there was a brief pause.
Alastor was just staring out the kitchen window, the phone pressed to his ear.
"I'm on my way." Alastor said suddenly, and then hung the phone up. He turned and Zip dove into a shadow, narrowly avoiding getting caught a second time.
Xander was silent as he watched through the creature's eyes. Alastor snatched a pair of keys off the counter and went back to the bedroom.
Zip followed, watching him as he paused to look at Aria, just barely touching her face with his fingertips.
He pulled away and clenched his fist before summoning a piece of paper that he put on the bedside table. On that, he began to write.
"Is he leaving?" Xander whispered, and then he chuckled, "is he coming to me?" He said, sounding more and more excited before he cackled maniacally.
"He's making it too easy!" Xander said between his laughter. Zip felt uneasy, watching from the shadows as Alastor vacated the room. Following him, it was confirmed that he was in fact leaving.
The front door slammed shut, and zip emerged to look at it warily. Then Xander spoke, much calmer than before.
"You may come home now," he said, his smile widening
"Your job there is finished."
Aria's POV
I groaned softly as I opened my eyes slowly, and I was surprised to find myself tucked into bed.
How did I get here?
What the hell happened?
My hand immediately wondered to where Alastor should be sleeping, my body turning towards his side slightly.
"Alas–" my words cut off when he wasn't there. The spot wasn't even warm, and it didn't look like he'd gotten into bed at all.
My brows creased in confusion, and I placed my hand against my head.
