3rd Person's POV
"Are you sure you'll be able to take care of it?" Hideo asked, looking worrily at Y/N who was petting the cat.
"Yes, and he has a name" the girl bluntly said, her eyes still fixated on her new pet.
"Y/N, his owner might have been looking for him you know?" he sweated as he said those, gulping a lump on his throat as he waited for her answer.
"It's been days, Uncle. If the are really a responsible owner, then they might as well look for him right?" smiling as she turned to look at the cat.
Hideo just sighed as he lay on his back on the couch, cautiously thinking of another topic without being insensitive to Y/N's feelings.
"Kuro, you wanna eat something else?" Hideo's eyes opened as he watched the girl talk to the cat as if it was really going to answer her.
"You really named him after his fur?" he laughed, earning her and Kuro's attention.
"I can't really think of something else, and he's easily offended" sliding her palms at the cat as the image of Keisuke flashed through her mind, smiling slightly as she stared onto Kuro's golden orbs.
"Take care of him for a while Uncle, I'm just going to buy some food" hurrying from her seat as Hideo raised his head curiously.
"You don't have to, I'm not hung--" he was quickly interrupted before he even finished his words.
"It's for Kuro" Y/N shouted from afar, followed by the door closing behind her as Hideo stared at the cat.
"You do really have some resemblance. No wonder why she took you in" he smiled, turning his eyes where he last saw her.
Strolling in the middle of the night might be the worst idea of her, feeling someone's presence on her back as she waited for a while, waiting for that person to show itself.
"You're acting like a fucking rat" she said out of nowhere as Hanma jumped out of the tree behind her.
"And here I thought you're clueless of me~" he laughed, swinging his arm on her shoulder as he started to walk with her.
"You don't really know that you look like a bamboo standing next to a normal tree?" removing his arm on her shoulder as she picked a stone on the ground, and threw it right at his face.
"Get lost, I don't want to see anyone right now" but instead of him being pissed off, he ran to her as if she was his mother and hugged her from behind.
"Don't worry, I'll be your big brother now" he playfully said, swinging both of their bodies as he planted a kiss on her forehead.
"That's fucking disgusting" her palms landed on his mouth as started to snicker.
"Quit that gloomy mood, it doesn't suit you" his demeanor changed in an instant, looking in her eye as he rested his hand on her head.
"Keep your head up, this is not the beginning of the real battle--" adding curiosity to Y/N as she stared at him with irritation in her eyes.
"You're always spouting nonsense as if you really know what's happening" she suddenly interrupted.
"I do. I may look like a dumb person to you, but still, I'm here to always help you" his tone was not like his usual one, it was normal.
"Who's the root of this?" she suddenly asked, snapping Hanma on his thoughts as he looked away from her.
"I know you know something, Shuji" she added, lifting up a knife from her pocket.
"Who gave this to my brother?" Hanma's eyes almost turned white as he stared at the butterfly knife that the girl was holding.
"You know, you should probably go home now Y/N. It's starting to get dark, it's dangerous" he was about to turn his back at her, but stopped midway as soon as the girl spoke.
"It's okay. I have a knife with me, you know? The same knife that my brother used"
"I don't really know anything about that matter" he hesitantly answered, avoiding her gaze as she stepped away from him and turned her back at him.
"I won't force you to say anything. But your honesty will be a great help to me someday" she left after that, making Hanma shocked and at the same time amazed.
"That girl is really something else" he giggled, wiping the sweat that was slowly building on his forehead.
"Damn, I almost died from that" he snickered, still wiping his sweat before adding another set of words.
"You are really going against a thick wall, Kisaki"
Chifuyu and Takemichi have been walking for a while now, looking for a dark furred cat as they both suffer from tiredness.
"Chifuyu, it's been days you know, let's get some rest" Takemichi complained, huffing as he sat on the ground.
"No, we need to find Peke J" Chifuyu protested, his eyes were full of determination as it let Takemichi to feel guilt.
"Are you sure about this? Maybe your cat ran away right?" Takemichi just kept on asking the same question for the past 3 days now.
"Takemichi, my answer will always be the same. Peke J won't run away unless someone kidnapped him" Chifuyu's eyes never looked at Takemichi as he was busy roaming around, trying to look for his missing cat.
"Is that Y/N-san?" Takemichi's finger pointed at the girl who was carrying a bag full of god knows as her gloomy face greeted everyone.
"Come, let's walk with her!!" Takemichi's voice was full of determination, trying to get out of his current place.
"No, she doesn't look like she's in a good mood so let her be. She need some time to freely open up" he turned to look away again as Takemichi sighed.
"Chifuyu, do you also miss him?" he asked, making Chifuyu stop before sitting down.
"Of course, everybody does, especially Y/N-san. It must be hard for her to lose Baji-san" he stared at the sky before closing his eyes.
"They both work like a clock. Y/N-san was the hands, and Baji-san was the wheel that kept the clock working. Without the hands, a clock will be useless right? The same thing goes for the wheel inside it, the clock won't work either" he sighed after saying those words.
Takemichi felt a pang in his chest, a sign of guilt for being unable to save Keisuke.
"You are really a poetic person, Chifuyu" a familiar voice came out of nowhere as the two turned to look at their backs.
"Y/N-san?"
Happy New Year everyone!!!
