The next morning, I didn't feel like going anywhere, but chances of that happening were at zero. My arms were wrapped around Kate's stomach as the two of us just laid in the bed, silent as ever. Now, it wasn't like anything else had happened that night, other than a few more kisses and a lot of cuddles before falling asleep.
A bark was heard at the end of the bed, the main cause of my sudden wake. Opening my eyes, all I could see was the back of her head, along with a lot of Kate's hair. Another bark from the dog at the end of the bed.
Slowly, I turned my head to look at Pizza Dog, of who then had a smiling face. As much as I wanted to let the dog out there was no way I was getting out of the position I was in. So there was a choice: I get out of bed to let the dog out, or I pet the dog while staying in bed.
Before I could move the side of blanket beside me for the dog, Kate moved around in my arms, turning around to face me. She dug her face into the crook of my neck, arms wrapping around me before I could get a word in.
"Uh... good morning." I murmured, looking down at her with a smile. Another bark from Pizza Dog made me roll my eyes as I looked over at him. "What?" I asked the dog, as if he'd be able to answer.
"I'm tired can we sleep in?" Kate asked, in a whispering tone. It made me smile.
"I would love to, but that's just asking for more teasing from Clint." I pointed out, getting a groan from Kate.
"We can talk about any part of last night but the last bit including Clint." The girl told me while I got second-hand embarrassed at the thought of him seeing us kissing. "Okay, ten more minutes. Then we'll get up." She said as I felt her grip get slightly tighter on me, along with the girl getting closer to me.
"Hmm." I hummed in agreement before placing my chin on the top of her head. "If he teases us once, I'm gonna stick an arrow in his stomach." I say, making the girl laugh.
He teased us. Ha, oh he teased us like the motherfucker's life was depending on it.
We walked into the kitchen, to see him drinking from the same THANOS WAS RIGHT mug. "Mornin'" The two of us had said in unison. The guy smirked from his phone, while I mentally cursed for everything.
"Good mornin' lovebirds." He said to the two of us. "There's some coffee-"
"Oh, thank god-" The girl pulled away from my embrace for a moment, heading straight to the coffee pot. Note to self- addicted to coffee, too. "Do you want one?" She called out to me, yet already taking out two mugs from the side.
"Yeah..." I smiled, sitting on the table.
"Okay," Dad began, as I saw that teasing smirk stick to his face like glue. "this morning, I'm gonna have a talk with our friend, Kazi." He explained. "What I want you two to do, is track down the trick arrows, from our other friends, the LARPers." He says. "Without making out." He looked over at me, while I showed him just where he could stick that last comment with a hand gesture.
I heard Kate laugh at the last comment, though, before getting confused. "Wait- what-"
"My tracer arrow stopped moving," He told her, looking down at his phone. "and it's over by an NYPD facility down by the bridge."
"Should be easy." I murmured as the girl handed me a mug of coffee. "The LARPers are mostly first responders, so one's gotta be a cop."
"See if they can get access to that NYPD facility." He tells me as I took a glance at the mug. I couldn't tell if it was a Taylor Swift reference or not.
