The walk home was silent, with neither me or Kate wanting to say anything. It was already turning to day time, yet there was nothing else to say about it. Do we talk about the weather? Or how that we may just loose Clint at any moment?
I need to sleep, I feel like crap. It's like... trying to untangle the lights on a Christmas tree... All of which were already lit up, and blinding me. Perhaps cutting the wires would be a better idea-
"I should've told you-" I began, but Kate shook her head. The girl's realisation to Yelena being Natasha's sister wasn't good. Room for improvement, that was for sure.
And, Yelena... Yelena's questions still ring in my ears as if it was seconds ago. It was half an hour ago... How has everybody forgiven him for his past?
"Robyn, you don't need to say sorry-" Kate began. "I mean, it's not easy to just say that it's her sister." The girl tried to chuckle it off, but we both knew it wasn't working. I was silent, staring at the floor. "How'd you know her?"
I stopped, half way through the park, still full of melting snow. It tells me you don't know who he really is Yelena had said to Kate. Was she doubting us? God, if only I knew. "Natasha kept me away from everyone after the Sokovia accords." I tell her, not making eye contact. The girl stood there in her coat, very still. "She was everything to me... And- on the first night, we were attacked. We then, found ourselves in Budapest-"
"Budapest?" The girl was unsure in the sudden setting change.
"Well, we were in Norway beforehand." I murmured. "And, when we got to Budapest, Natasha met Yelena, again, and 'Lena nearly killed us both before realising we meant good." I tried to shrug off the end bit like it was no big deal. Kate was still quiet, and I didn't know what else to say. "That vest I wore? With the tracksuits? And earlier tonight? Yelena gave it to Natasha, and she gave it to me. I have to get it back to her-" And then, I lost my train of thought, rambling on about so many different things.
Kate stopped me though, hands cupping my cheeks as she down at me, lifting my head up to look back up at her. "Hey, hey-" The girl gave me a reassuring smile. "Are you okay?" I nodded silently, making her scoff a tiny bit. "That doesn't sound like you are..."
"Yelena said we're out here to protect our reputation." I murmured, now looking at her. "I don't know about Clint, but that certainly isn't what I'm here to do. Not anymore."
Kate seemed to be memorising everything about what I'd just said and done, every detail on my face before I leaned in to close the gap between our lips. A small kiss, yet one that said a thousand words.
The sudden sound of something, or someone, beside us caused the two of us to pull away. A guy, handing out flyers, seemed rather insistent on handing us one of them. Kate had a small smile on her face while I gave him a sincere smile, taking the flyer from him. The man moved on and I took one glance at what it said, throwing it behind me before holding out my hand to Kate.
"Shall we?" I asked the girl. She giggled.
"Oh, we shall."

When we got back to the penthouse, it turns out that Kate was good at tell her mom to look into things. Jack was being arrested, yet, he was acting strange considering it was his arrest. Although, I guess you're meant to be in denial when arrested, aren't you?
