Clint drove the car down the road, towards the farm that was covered in snow, while music played through the radio. It had been a good nights of sleep, and I was looking forward to the day at a whole. No more headaches was good enough for me.
I leaned my head on Kate's shoulder, and she smiled, kissing the top of my head as Pizza Dog laid between the two of us, trying to get comfy, still.
"This dog-" I began, staring at his cute face.
"We are so close to the door, and you're about to start a fight with a dog?" Clint called from the front seat, parking the car.
"HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S ABOUT TO SHIT ON ME." I added, undoing my seatbelt, making Kate laugh her ass off as I got out the opposite door. Clint shook his head in disbelief as he got out the car, walking towards the boot of the car. He handed me my own bags, which seemed to take forever to put on my back and balance before he then handed me a stack of presents for them all. "Kate, come on." I called her, closing the boot door as he held his stack of presents and bags.
"Right, yeah-" He walked ahead of us, while I waited for her and the dog. "Yeah, come on, Lucky." She called him, and the dog barked as we began to walk towards the house. "Hey, are you sure this is okay?" She asked us. But, I was worrying about something else other than if it was okay for Kate to be with us at Christmas.
Clint turned to look at her. "I'm telling you, they're VERY excited to meet you." He said, I shook my head at the look he'd given me.
The door suddenly opened, and Nate came rushing out to hug Clint. "DADDY-" He hugged the man and I smiled, finally seeing the boy again.
But, then I saw the smile on Lila's face, making my day at least ten times better. As we walked up to the door's steps she I gave her a smile. "You made it." She was almost taken back.
"Fuck yeah, we did. You think I'm gonna break that promise?" She smiled as I handed her the presents before hugging her. "Now- uh-" I turned to look at Kate and then back at Lila. "This is Kate..." I began.
"Oh, I know." She gave me a knowing look, making me worried as we all then walked into the house.
"What does that mean?" I asked as Kate followed in with Nate and Lucky.
"You'll see." But my sister was already gone, placing all the new gifts under the tree as I walked over to Mama.
She gave me a smile, yet pulled up a chair the moment after we'd finished our hug, insisting I'd sit down. "The cut on your forehead-" Who would've thought that even if I was an Avenger, that Laura was gonna be a mom to me.
"Will heal." I dismissed before Clint also came over to say his helloes to Laura. "She'll be here soon." I added on, then remembering something else. "Oh- and uh-" I reached into my hoodie's pocket, dangling a watch in front of my mother for her to take. "Found this in an apartment." I smirked at her as Laura took it from me.
"Thank you, Robbie." She told me, but I shrugged.
"Didn't do it alone." I pointed out, already looking over Kate, at the door still. "That's Kate."
"Hmmm." Mama smiled at me. "Go on, tell me she's amazing."
"Okay," I began, hoping to not get too loud so she couldn't hear. "but she's just- perfect? And skilled, and talented, beautiful and hot."
