They make their way over towards the restaurant in the area, and they sit a little farther than the cog man they had just met. Venra, curious about this guy, looked at him when she could. He seemed out of ordinary, and he seemed to be enjoying the stares he got from people. He just sat there eating his food and looking at his pocket watch. After eating he just sat there and worked on a mini clock that he had in his satchel. He had an extreme concentration on what he was doing. He also seemed super hyper-fixated on anything about clocks. If people asked, he answered. Though he was a little frustrated when people wouldn't stop coming. He eventually had a line behind him all inquiring about clocks and the best ones. All he had to answer was,
"Go to Mondstadt! I have a beautiful shop set up for all of you lovely consumers out here, hehe!"
Of course, he always received silence after. I guess he wasn't aware of Inazuma's current predicament. He always had a smile on his face too.
"Venra? World to Venra!"
Mizuto interrupted Venra's thoughts, and she turned back to the table.
"Huh? Sorry, what were you saying?"
"I was saying that you seemed oddly interested in that man over there ever since he asked you for directions. Do you want to talk to him?" Mizuto asked, also curious as to what the man had to say.
"Ah...I may be a bit awkward but-"
But Mizuto had already gotten up and dragged her to the line, smiling proudly.
"W-what?! W-wait Mizuto!"
"Relaaax! You'll be fine!"
Venra's face turned super red, and she just stood there while others got their questions answered by him. Next, it was her, in the back of the line, and the last one he had to talk to.
"Oh-ho-ho! It's that same young lady whom I had asked directions from! What is your question madam?"
"U-Uh...it's not really a uh...a clock question b-but uhm..."
"What is my name? Are you thinking that by chance?"
Venra was shocked.
"Uh...yeah actually...h-how'd you know?"
"Hehe, you wouldn't like the answer. My nickname across these lands is, AHEM! 'The Clockmakers Demise!' Hehe, neat isn't it?"
"The...Clockmakers Demise? Why is that your nickname?"
"It was given to me by the vendors in Mondstadt, hehe."
"Mondstadt you say? Then how have I never heard of you before...strange..."
"Maybe because you never needed a clock fixed by chance?"
Mondstadt...a clockmaker, it still feels so fuzzy. But he seems so familiar. It's like I have amnesia...
"Probably...do you fix just clocks?"
"Not just clocks! It's just my expertise!"
"Okay then...do you by chance also create things?"
"I do! I make my own clocks too! I sell them if the clocks people give me cannot be fixed. All of them are handmade so no counterfeits guaranteed!"
Clocks are all he seems to ever want to talk about...he's obsessed, that's for sure.
"Are you interested in ordering? I have custom and pre-made options! All starting from 1800 Mora!"
"I'll pass. I don't need one at this time..."
"Oh no, I insist! You seem like you enjoy clocks a lot. I can show you a thing or two! Maybe three or four! Haha!"
I can't really pass up the offer to learn something new I guess...
