They had guided the two of them to Wangshu Inn, where they could stay for as long as they pleased. They got themselves a room, and Venra, being her nice self, tucked Xue in, and she, herself, sat in a chair, examining the books on the shelves. Before she knew it...it was already morning and she hadn't slept a wink. No issue for her, as she was used to this. She must've been in her mind the whole night, thinking about who knows what. Then a soft, delicate voice from behind spoke.
"Good morning..."
It was Xue, just barely waking up. Venra turns around and smiles. "How did you sleep?" She asked. The girl smiled at the sweet question and said,
"I slept well...but wait...when did I get here?"
"Ah, you fell asleep before I got back. I let you sleep for a bit before some guard walked up to us and asked me who I was. Then I asked them where a nearby shelter was and they guided us here. Never been here before...the views are incredible though..."
"Oh, Liyue is such a wonderful place. I take it you've never been here much?"
"No, I haven't. Some of the trees are just the perfect shade of orange in the sun...so...picturesque."
Xue giggles.
"Yeah. That's Liyue for you. How come I've never seen you before, well, before the Winery thing. Have you always been in Mondstadt?"
Venra gets quiet, not sure whether she should tell the truth.
"That's...a topic for another day."
She shifts in her chair, and her Vision makes a rattling sound. That piques Xue's interest.
"Do you have a Vision?"
"Heh, yes, actually. I'm Cryo. You?"
"Also Cryo."
They then tell their stories on how they got it, and how they use it in battle. Xue was easily interested in Venra's battle techniques and was invested in her ability to harness the energy. They both talked the morning away, blabbing about random things. Their favorite foods, what kind of ripeness they like their Sunsettias at, what type of day they enjoy the most. So on and so forth. They were really bonding, and they already felt like best friends.
They both decided they were hungry, and so they went outside to the base of the inn so they could be seated properly. They couldn't just go to the kitchen and ask the man there what they wanted. He was probably busy as it is. "Do you know what you want, Xue?" Venra asks, politely. "Yeah, I do! Though everything here is absolutely delectable." They both laugh. "Yeah, I bet. You can probably guess what I'm ordering."
They go back and forth, guessing what foods they were going to order before the waitress came over to them. "Hello, ladies! I am your server, Yaixing, and I will be serving you today! Do you know what you two are going to order?"
Xue orders first."Can I get an order of...Cured Pork Dry Hotpot with a side of...Jewelry Soup?"
The server nods, and then it is Venra's turn to order.
"I'd like the Golden Crab with a side of Golden Shrimp Balls."
"Of course! I'll get your order right away!"
Xue smiles and playfully elbows her in the ribs. "I knew you'd get all fried food." Venra, also joking around, and sounding a little dramatic, says, "Oh come on, I get to splurge a little!" The two of them wait for their order to come, and they start eating. Then, from behind, a brooding man stands behind them. Venra stands up, looking now suddenly very professional. "I need to talk to you, Verity." She nods, and mouths to Xue that she has to wait.
