"Venra! Oh my goodness! How did you even find him?!"
Shinobu shrieked, helping Mizuto lay him on the couch.
"He had found me...actually."
"Tsk, tsk! You're so stubborn. Even after Xue said that you shouldn't go out there and find him, you still went anyway."
Shinobu lectured Venra, now able to help clean her wounds she acquired during her battle with Tobias. Was it really her fault this time? Venra looked down, feeling guilty. Xue looked over to the couch and saw Tobias, and honestly, did her best to stifle a blush when she first saw him up close. Shinobu had to take off layer after layer of rather expensive clothing just to get to the wounds on his body. He was surely pocketing lots of money with his clock business. But even so...he was incredibly fit. He couldn't just be working as a clockmaker this whole time? Certainly he had some other part-time job.
"Honey, your shoulder is all bruised up...how did that even happen? Did a tree fall on you or something?"
Venra looked to the side, and looked at Tobias' claymore. It shone in the living room light, and she sighed, tenderly pointing to it with her free hand. She felt like she had lost the strength to even speak. Shinobu nodded, and was more careful around her shoulder, even though it still made Venra wince. The blade didn't cut through her skin, luckily, but it still hurt like hell.
"You've got to stop getting into fights, Venra. You always find yourself in the middle of conflict. I'm worrying about it."
"It's just who I am...guess trouble finds me everywhere..."
Venra tried to joke, but it resulted in no laughs, and just silence. Venra laughed nervously to release the tension, until she realized that laughing wasn't going to make her feel better about all this. She looked back at Tobias, who was still out cold. Xue kept looking at him, observing from a distance. Venra shook her head, and ran her fingers through her hair, looking now stressed. Shinobu walked off, now tending to Tobias. Xue walked over to Venra, and sat next to her. Venra dared not to look at her. She felt too guilty for her own good, she couldn't possibly talk to Xue without just bursting into tears. Xue held Venra's hand and just looked off in the distance, making Venra look up as well. Xue was looking at the clock, and suddenly Venra held her hand tighter.
"Boo...beware of the clock ghost..."
Venra jokes, softly, breaking the silence between the two girls.
"Sorry for always making trouble for you. I don't mean to it...it just...it...it follows me everywhere! I really don't know what to do with it. Crappy things always happen when I'm around people I care and love. Why?"
Xue was about to respond when a rather soft voice came from behind.
"It's the Darun curse, Venra."
Tobias had suddenly awakened from his rather comatose state. Even Mizuto was shocked to see him get up so quickly. He didn't even care that his shirt was mostly off. Actually, he didn't even seem to mind being in this very house. He ruffled his hair, and looked over at Venra. Now, the whole family could see the resemblance of these two, almost strangers.
"The...Darun curse...wait, HOW DO YOU KNOW MY LAST NAME?!"
Venra shrieked, getting more stressed by the second.
"Hush. You're too loud...quiet down..."
"W-wha...? Oh...I'm sorry..."
"We're siblings. Venra."
The whole room looked at each other in dead silence. Venra started laughing, rather hysterical.
"You're kidding me, right? You just did that so everyone would shut up, huh? Right? R-right?! I-I don't even remember you! H-how could you be my sibling if I...I have no...clue."
