Chapter 21

We get home and Matt decides he needs to take a shower. As I silently wait in our bedroom for him to get done, I hear a small knock on the front door . I run down the steps and open the front door to see nothing but a note.

It reads 'Guess what ? Your pretty little life is about to be over.'

I grab the note and run upstairs. When I'm halfway up I hear beating on the back door. I need to know who's messing with me. I run to the back door and open the curtains followed by the door. When I see him I fall to my knees and try to crawl away.

"Guess what honey? I'm back babe from jail babe and I'm ready to be with you for the rest of our lives," Luke basically yells at me.

"I don't want to be with you. Get away," I say as I try to remember who the man in front of me is.

"Oh Hun. You don't understand, do you ? You don't have a choice. You will come back with me and you will like it."

"No ! MATT!" I scream.

"Oh is there someone else here? Who could that be. Matt? As in your best friend from elementary?" he asks, "Hey pretty boy? Are you up there? Come on down and save your sweet and pretty innocent one before it's too late," he smirks.

He pushes me down on my knees and calls for Matt one more time. Matt begins to run up the stairs in nothing but a pair of cargo shorts. When he sees Luke he gives me a look as if asking if he's the one from my past. I give him a scared look back and Luke sees it so he whips around and grabs my hair as he holds a gun to my head.

"Well pretty boy, it's your turn to make a decision. You or her?" Luke asks.

"Don't you dare do this Luke. You've already put her through enough. Leave her alone. Leave us alone. She did what was right, so leave her how we are now. She barely even remembers you. "

"Why wouldn't she remember her first love? She loved me and I loved her. I don't know what you're talking about. You remember me right babe?" Luke asks me.

I shake my head no slightly and look up at Matt for approval. "I'm sorry that I don't remember you," I try to make out before he pulls the trigger.

As I look out of the corner of my eye, I see that Luke's hand moves and his finger slowly tenses as the trigger pulls back.
