"What no. I didn't kill my mom. I promise. Why would I do that ?" I try to make out.
"The evidence makes since, you're mad at her for keeping you from your grandparents," the business women states.
"I would never do that. I couldn't even manage that by myself. Or think about it. Let alone, do it."
Two hours of interrogating pass and I am free to go home. Matt is in a coma and most likely will be out for days. When I reach my home, I become weak in the knees. Trying to walk in the door of where the two people that matter to me most have been hurt, or in my moms case, killed, is horrible. I run to my bedroom and slam Matt's door shut along with mine. I can't go downstairs. The walls are lined off with plastic, and I couldn't bear to look down at where it all started. I laid down on my bed and began to stare at the blank ceiling. Over the time of 27 hours, my bestfriend, boyfriend, and my mother have either began to lose or lost a place in the world. My boyfriend, and bestfriend continues to fight and stay strong.
This day couldn't get any worse, right ?
Wrong.
I run to my leather ottoman and open the lid. Inside, is a small box with a shiny silver blade like new. I have been clean for four months and I'm getting ready to break it. As I hover the blade over my wrist, my hand shakes and the blade slips as it digs deep into my skin. This time, I can't seem to stop it. The demonic voices in my head keep it going.
"You're a worthless piece of shit, Jess. No one would care if you dropped dead right now. You're daddy isn't here to save you this time is he sweetie. No one is left for you. Matt will die and so will you. You deserve it. Just do it now and get it over with. One. Two. Three."
I pushed the blade down as hard as I could and shut my eyes deeply.
