"Matt!" I scream as my eyes burst open.
"Hey, beautiful!"
As he reaches down for a hug I realize he has grown taller. I can smell him as he holds me tight .
"I missed you," he mumbles in my ear for only me to hear, "so, so, much Jessie. I can't lose you again."
"I know Matt."
When Matt draws back I look around the room. I find my mom, the doctor , and someone I wasn't expecting to see, Isaiah. I can't believe he's here. Not only did he leave me alone crying, but he texted me over and over again with things saying, " you're worthless Jess, why would you run out on me."
I then realized that Matt was unaware of the situation. He didn't even know who Isaiah was. Let alone Luke. I suddenly felt guilty . Guilty for Matt leaving in the first place , guilty for my mom leaving me, guilty for the way I have treated Isaiah, and guilty for my dad dying. I feel overwhelmed . I need to talk to Matt. Now.
"Can everyone please please give me and Matt some time. I haven't seen him in 4 years ."
"Sure," everyone joins in as they walk out of the stuffy hospital room.
When Isaiah walks out of the room, I can feel a strong weight lifted off my shoulders. Matt gasped and stared at me with the look that seemed so familiar.
"You guys are dating! Oh my god! You didn't even tell me!"
"Matt, I know. I'm sorry. I have to tell you a lot more than that."
"Go on!" he says with a cute voice.
