"Iʼm hungry . . ." Both you and Ace slumped down the dinner table, taking a break from pounding onto the long furniture (almost breaking it in the process) as you wait for Thatch to finish cooking breakfast. It was already past breakfast time when you woke up and immediately rushed to the dining hall where you were also greeted by a late Ace.
The sound of the kitchen door opening resounded throughout the hall and plates were placed infront of the two people who occupied the first table of the large dining room. Your eyes lit up from the delicious smell of the meal as Ace immediately gobbled up his own plate.
"If you two hadnʼt made a prank for Marco, you wouldnʼt have stayed up late last night writing a hundred of apology letters for him." Thatch pulled out a chair and sat as he watched you and Ace eat. "But I must admit, it was pretty good though." The pompadour man wheezed remembering yesterdayʼs events.

It was when Ace and Haruta found a mysterious egg in the last island they had recently docked in. The two shared mischievous smiles as if they had the same thought and went back to the Moby Dick to share the hilarious idea and prank with you. It occured in the afternoon when Marco was taking a break (suggested by Whitebeard), you snucked inside Marcoʼs room as the said man was taking a nap in his phoenix form. You placed the colorful yet mysterious egg by Marcoʼs tummy near his tail as if he laid one and hurried your way out soon after.
Marco taking a nap in his phoenix form remained a mystery to you but made it easier for the prank.
In the evening, the door leading to the shipʼs deck was busted open by Thatch, the said man panted as everyone who was busy doing their tasks turned to him, including Whitebeard. "What is it, son?" He asked.
"Marco laid an egg."
Everyoneʼs eyes went wide except for certain three people on the deck who knew what really happened and acted surprised. Whitebeard had sensed this as he chuckled after releasing a sigh. "You three plotted this, didnʼt you?" The other crewmembers followed their popʼs eyes as to where he was looking.
"Ace."
"Haruta."
"Y/N."
The said three people started to sweat profusely and turned to their pops, ready to deny their actions. "N-No, we werenʼt! We didnʼt even know there was a colorful egg at the island!" Ace blurted out and laughed nervously.
This guy. You and Haruta remained silent, preventing yourself from slapping your palm onto your face at your commanderʼs stupidity.
Sound of footsteps resounded through the now silent Moby Dick. The low sound of stomping onto the wooden deck belonged to the none other than the vice captain and first division commander, Phoenix Marco. The crew step aside, making way for their commander whose face held no emotion at all, as he held the mysterious egg with careful hands.
"Ehem."
The three silently yelped at the familiar voice and slowly turned only to be greeted with eyes sharp as a dagger. If only looks could kill, they would have been dead by now. "H-Hi, Marco." Haruta smiled nervously as he tried to played it off.
"Donʼt 'hi' me, yoi. Who put this on my bed?" Marco went straight to asking while eyeing each three who kneeled infront of him, sweaty hands clasped nervously and placed onto their laps. Harutaʼs and Aceʼs fingers both pointed at you as Marco whipped his head onto your direction at the same time, making you silently shriek in horror.
Marco is indeed scary.
"But they told me to!" You exclaimed, tears ready to form at the corner of your eyes. "They found the egg at the island and thought it would be a good idea to prank you!" You defended.
"Marco, I think thatʼs enough-"
"Donʼt interfere, Izo. Iʼll deal with them, yoi. Go back to your tasks, everyone." The whole crew obeyed, not wanting to anger their vice captain anymore.
And at the end of the day, the three were given an hour or two of lecture and a punishment of writing a hundred apology letters all night. "No sleeping until you submit all of that into my office." The phoenix commander added making the three sigh in frustration and risked their one night of sleep.
You and Ace had woken up late the next day while Haruta had forced himself awake as he had an early shift on the ship.
Although having their lesson learned of not pranking Marco, they didnʼt promise to stop causing another day of a scary Marco. Nope, scratch that, he is beyond scary.
