'Why don't you start by first telling me who exactly you are, or should I say what exactly you are'.

He'd taken a seat across from her, not forcing the conversation but she knew that it was now or never.

She recounted the tale from the adoption, to the trainings, the manifestations and their 'work'.

All through he said nothing, even when she spoke of Darius. Not a word.

'What are you Symphony?',

'I'm a witch, umm I'm apparently a grand Maestro in training. Something like that-', she trailed off as his eyes darkened in anger.

'Did you spell me?',

'What? No! I wouldn't do that to you!',

'So Darius was just fair game? Is that it?-',

'Yes he was Duncan, he wasn't my priority you were and still are',

'How refreshing', his dull tone cut her deep.

'Look, nothing I'm going to say will make the passed year go away. Okay, I came to the church because I saw you at the club and my spells weren't working on you. And that was the first time I tried, the dream catcher was another time but you burned it. Besides it wasn't exactly a spell, I just... I'm sorry', she finally said in a small voice. Fighting tears.

'Were you ever going to tell me any of these without this compulsion you're under?', she shook her head no as the tears started again.

'I'm sorry', she said again. 'You would never have forgiven me or looked at me the same, just like you're looking at me now and it hurts cause it'll only get worse I'm sorry-', she began sobbing in earnest. Her worst fear was playing out in that moment.

Oh how she wishes she'd snap awake right about now in that god-damned prison so she could prepare better.

Anything but this right now.

'So I'm in love with a witch, one who has hurt my family right under my nose',he said while staring at his hands.

Symphony kept sobbing, he was in love with her too. What a mess!!

'I'm not saying this is alright, but you'll need to settle a bit so you can get better. Then we'll deal with this then',

'Are you still going to talk to me?', she asked as he was leaving the room.

'Yes Symphony, I'll talk to you. Get some sleep', she knew it was a lie as he didn't turn around while saying the words. She knew their conversations were going to be need to know only.

What a mess!!
