Chapter twenty five

'What if it's too late for anything to happen between us? What if I've already found love in someone else?'.

'What?'

She crossed her arms under her breasts after she'd taken her hands out of his.

'Yes, what if I've already moved on. If I already have a boyfriend from church, or if I'm just bidding my time to tell you about my marriage?', she kept a straight face as Duncan's mouth mimicked a fish's.

'Now that you've forgiven me and worked around your feelings, what about my feelings? You admitted to observing that I've forgiven you which is very true, but what if I've given my heart to another and you're not aware? What next?',

He closed his mouth and kept looking at her. She didn't back down from his stare, she kept her eyes blank and steady on his.

'Then I'd do everything within my power to win you back', Symphony scoffed in response but her heart began a crazy beat.

'And if I'm done with you?',

'I'm tempted to say I'll respect your decision but I don't play like that. I'll keep at it till I get what I want',

'And is it that you want Duncan Rodriguez?',

'You'.

'Symphony?.. Symphony?!', she jerked to see Jeffrey giving her a puzzled look.

'What realm did you journey to? Been calling out your name for a while',

'I'm sorry just thinking over something and got lost in my head. What do you need from me?', she flashed him a smile which he returned.

'Well I wanted to give you your invites for the premiere. You get five as assistant production manager', he handed them to her.

'Ooohhhh thanks!', she said with so much excitement Jeffrey laughed

'I You coming for the hangout tonight?',

'Maybe, but I'm leaning heavily on not coming. But I might change my mind though',

'You guys aren't going to come, so don't worry about offending anyone. We know what to expect',

'Who's you guys?', she asked confused. Last time she checked he was asking her.

'Duncan, Ben, Darius, King might show up but I'm not counting on it. And that's just the Christian folks you know, you guys who share the faith rarely or better put never show up',

'Alright then, it's settled! I'll see you lot at the premiere', she said in response to that

Jeffrey shook his head with laughter before leaving her be.

So they already had an identity and all she did was fit in, then she was doing something right.

The one thing she was very sure she won't ever get used to was the way the paparazzi were hounding them on the weeks before the premiere.

And she had made it a point of duty to avoid Duncan.

The events he invited her for, she'd gone because she wanted to go. Not because he asked her, at least that was what she was telling herself.

She laughed, danced, sang along and had such a great time at the concert. The highlight of her evening was the proposal and engagement of Sandra.

The concert had ended in good time which was weird as these things usually take up more hours of the night.

Symphony had checked all the arrangements for the engagement and made sure to visually inspect it as the concert was rounding off.

She came back and gave Scott the signal he needed to usher Sandra out in the name of not being caught up in traffic.

'This was mag Scott! I had so much fun!! I'm so going to get the new songs they did! Oh wow someone's getting a proposal! Look Scott, so pretty. I'm pretty sure she'd say yes, what are you doing?!! Are we supposed to be this close to it? Scott why are you-', the words died in her mouth as Scott went down on one knee.

'Babe, you're the best thing that has happened to me in the past few years. I remember praying for you, a wife, a life companion, someone to inspire me to do more and you've surpassed it all in just being you. It's a good thing that the bible says it's not a good thing for a man to be alone, so I'm asking babe. Would you do the honor of being my forever plus one?', Sandra didn't realize she had tears running down her eyes.

'I swore I wasn't going to cry when I got my proposal! Now look at me! Oh my gosh yes, yes I'll be your forever plus one', as Scott slipped the ring on her finger a round of applause was heard.

The click of cameras, and shouts of congratulations. The band then sang a special song as requested by Scott for her in celebration of their engagement.

'Thank you for agreeing to be mine',

'Without a doubt', she said in response as they both shared a kiss.

Symphony didn't realize that she too had happy tears in her eyes till a handkerchief was passed to her by Duncan.

'Thanks', she gave a watery smile and proceeded to dab her eyes and regain composure.

At the moment she was watching the recording of the proposal.

Scott had a mic on him so her words were recorded.

She smiled as she once more thanked God for providing her the opportunity to make someone else happy.

The highlight for Sandra was when after the kiss she turned and saw her parents.

She immediately ran to her dad who didn't waste any time in lifting her up and twirling her.

'My little girl is all grown up', he released her as her mum too pulled her into a hug

'I'm so happy and proud of you baby!',

'Thanks mum',

'Now this may sound cliche but if you hurt my baby and somehow escape her father you can be rest assured that you won't escape. Go do your research and ask questions, you've got one scary mother bear for a mother in-law', this part made Symphony laugh.

Even Scott was a bit apprehensive. But it all ended well and Sandra was about to be hitched for life.

Her door bell rang, she shit down her tab before going to check who it was. She wasn't expecting anyone.

Opening the door she was wearily surprised by her unannounced visitor.
