In case you're wondering what's going on, I'm trying in my best knowledge to give a kind of background story to the story 😁

'Nope, we are choosing the bar and you must have a drink',

'Lets assume I lose whatever this is, I get to choose the drink', Duncan Rodriguez said to his best mates.

Just like his mum he had found a place in Hollywood and had made a few questionable friends both from movies and from school.

In his circle of five, two were his college buddies who also had acting careers and two he met on set for his first action movie.

Kingsley and Leonard from school, Benjamin and Darius from set with Darius being his stunt double. Their resemblance was eerie at first but remarkable.

'Yea why not, and also you can't just step in and step out. You would have a seat, have a drink, make conversation and though a very far stretch meet a girl', King continued with his rules for the outing.

'What makes you think I'll lose the bet?', Duncan asked getting peeved by the conversation.

'Because you will', Ben said from the kitchen where he was nursing a cup of coffee.

'Okay, let's hear it's,

'Before you get mad, know that none of us had a hand in this-',

'What on earth is this bet already?!',

'Well today in set, I bet you that Clara Davina would make a move on you after the make out scene',

'Are you nuts? The make out scene is with Darius not me for starters, and second of all ewwww!',

The guys laughed. A stunt double had to be out in place as Clara and Duncan had a serious class on the first day of the movie shooting.

'Well that is the bet. Told them to make it something that is very unlikely to happen', Darius spoke for the first time since the bet was brought up.

Leo who hadn't said anything to any of them asides good morning earlier in the morning suddenly burst out laughing.

'I'll really want that on camera if it happens!',. The other guys laughed as well.

'Alright then, as you've chosen to waste your own time and a net I'm off to the studio to go help Jane with some music. Bye!', Duncan stood from the stool he was occupying in the kitchen.

'Say hi to mama J and give her a kiss in exchange for cookies!', Ben yelled after him.

'I like my head attached to me body thank you very much. I'll point her husband in your direction if he's there!', the door was shut after that as he made his way to his car.

The studio....

'Duncan the director wants you on set', Jane said after she placed the office phone down. Good thing they were done.

'Alright, see ya. Do you by chance have any cookies for the boys?',

'So you can eat them all in the car?',

'Nooo', he gave an exaggerated hurtful expression.

'No I don't, tell Ben I'll try to remember next time',

'Alright. Bye, for real this time', he left to go answer the director.

'You called for me?',

'Yes, take a look at this', the director turned the screen and he cringed at what he saw.

Zero chemistry, horrible scene in two words. Even a newbie would have spotted it.

'Well that's just wrong', he gave an honest response as usual.

'I know, so I'm going to propose something that has worked for other actors and actresses in times past that I've worked with. Option one of seeing how you guys give life to your characters isn't working out for you guys, so option two. You guys have to spend some time together to enable a little friendship bud or at least tolerance',

'Or we could actually do our jobs and show more professionalism. Let's redo the scenes and act like star crossed lovers',

'Alright, we'll do it your way then it's my way',

'Deal'.

'Great job Duncan, I'll be seeing you tomorrow',

'Thank you sir, good night', he walked out to where he parked his car. Opening the car door he heard his name from an all too familiar voice.

I'm so going to lose this bet!

He turned to give Clara Davina a small smile as she approached him.

'Hi, listen. Umm I was wondering if we could go for coffee, there's something I want to talk to you about',

'Sure, do you have a place in mind? Is now good', he placed the bag he planned on putting on his front seat at the back

'Yea, it's just off the road. Down the boulevard',

'Okay, come on in',

Ladies and gentlemen, this is how a bet is lost.

Setting his thoughts right, he drove to the cafe she directed him to.

'So we finally pulled off today's shoot', Clara said as they were shown to a table.

'Yes, thank God for that',

'Yea that. Anyway I wanted to ask if you won't mind hanging out some time this week',

Just great! Bet officially lost..

'Depends, what do you have in mind?',

'Just coffee, maybe dinner. I dunno, whatever you're comfortable with',

'Sounds good, coffee is fine by me',

'I'll take it. Thank you for agreeing to this, the director suggested it. I initially said no and decided to give it a try. And I don't regret it',

'Good for you. You know what? Let me take you to dinner tomorrow'

'Really?'

'Yes', she looked giddy. He was amused, with the way they fought he'd never have believed she had it in her to be happy over a dinner date from him.

'Give me your phone', he gave it to her. She called a number before returning the phone to him.

'That's my number, so you can text me the details',

'Will do, this was really nice',

'I know right!'.

He drove her back to the studio so she could pick up her car. Before she alighted his vehicle she gave him a hug. He looked over her shoulder to see Leo and Darius staring with their mouths open.

She soon started her own car and drove off.

'Are you guys coming or what?', they blinked like owls at Clara's tail lights.

'We're actually going to a bar with this one', Darius said in awe.

'Couldn't have said it better myself', Duncan muttered as he pulled the car out of the garage into the driveway.
