Christine's P.O.V
I walked into the room and was immediately choked with the power emanating from everyone in the room, I hadn't felt such strong, intimidating power in a long time, and it was bringing out senses that were oppressed. I schooled my emotions to show nothing as I turned to the main source of the power. They wore perfectly schooled blank faces, looking as beautiful as ever, I noticed the new addition but decided to not comment on him and turned to her. Her grey, cold eyes locked with mine and I smirked,
'I see you haven't redecorated'
My words only got two amused and an oh-so-ever blank expression, I raised an eyebrow not averting my eyes from hers as I waited for a reply, tiredness, and anxiousness won me over and I sighed, rolling my eyes understanding what she meant and said
'God you're boring, Fine, I'll get to the point, what am I here for?'
Finally, she spoke in her sweet yet cold, delicate voice 'I'm sure you are aware of the tragic death that has fallen upon us,' I was going to cut her off with a sarcastic 'Oh really?' but she seemingly sensed that and raised her hand silencing me, I rolled my eyes again but listened as she continued ' The late king was found dead yesterday morning and you being the eldest granddaughter and princess was escorted here as soon as possible for the will reading and your protection'. Jeez, that was blunt, I thought and instantly remembered that Aurora was always like that blunt, to the point, and the most uptight person I'd ever known. After a moment of me getting lost in my thoughts, I processed what she said and laughed
'will? I was excluded out of that will age ago, or do you not remember that Aurora?' I asked with a hint of bitterness.
'I remember Christine but recently it has come to light that he had changed his will to include you. We do not know what he changed it to but we are sure you are there in it and we can not read it without you' she said.
what the hell? The old man changed his will? Why include me after so many years? Questions kept popping up in my head and I knew that agreeing with her was the best thing I could do right now and seeing Nan and him wouldn't hurt.
'Ok I'll attend the will reading but after that, I'm gone ok? , That's the deal' I said raising an eyebrow.
Faint annoyance and an emotion I couldn't read flashed through her face before she nodded and said 'Fine we won't bother you after this, we have a deal'.
I nodded, smiled, and turned to meet a pair of green eyes, fitted in a handsome face with brown hair framing it.
'Hello Jordan, it's been a while'
He curtly nodded at me, his eyes flashing gold for a second. His aura became more dangerous and if I hadn't known who and what he was (A werewolf) I would be trembling but I knew so I simply smiled at him and turned to the new addition. He sat graciously with a neutral look on his perfectly chiseled face, his dark black eyes bore into mine while his black hair sat nearly styled, I could sense with my barely awake rusty senses that he was a vampire, an old one too.
'We haven't met I'm Christine and you are?' I introduced myself and asked in a polite tone. Although internally I was dying to know how and why a vampire- a species who were despised by every other, was even let into The Council-one that saw to that the supernatural world ran orderly, one that made the unspoken rule they were currently breaking. That was unfortunately how our world was, prejudiced and filled with bigots.
'Hello I am Drake, it's a pleasure to finally meet the infamous princess of witches' he said in his enchanting voice, it was normal in all vampires or so I'd heard.
I raised an eyebrow at his comment anger rising in me but decided to say nothing, there would be a time to explode and I would wait for it, to savor every moment of it. The vampire seemed to notice this and amusement mixed with curiosity filled his face before it washed away turning neutral again.
'Now that the introductions are over, let's get started shall we?' Jordan said and they rose from their seats. Aurora raised her hand and a door appeared, they started walking towards knowing I would follow.
I finally let out a breath, the power had lessened and my senses had started calming down. I didn't like what was happening to them, to me and I was not going to allow it to progress any further. I would see my family, listen to the old man's will and get out of here. My power would not get the best of me, not this time, I vowed to myself and followed them inside.
