Christine's P.O.V
I stilled in surprise as I opened my room door and saw Matthew peering out of my window.
" Does my room have the best view? or are you just used to creeping on people?
I asked sarcastically as I relaxed on the sofa.
"I see you haven't lost your humor after today's events" he quipped, still looking outside my window.
I winced at the memory of it and sighed,
"Please don't remind me, it's bad enough that I have to meet him again tomorrow"
"And that is why I am here" he replied.
" To listen to me rant about my unfortunate love life?" I asked, rubbing my forehead to alleviate my headache.
" To make sure you are loyal to us" he said and finally turned to me.
Shock made me stop my actions and I blurted out, "so you don't believe me? That was all an act?"
" I have lived for a long time, Christine, I have seen and felt betrayal. I might have told Aderyn to leave her suspicions and your heart was true but emotions are easily swayed, old love can take control, i am here to warn you to not fall into that trap" he said while staring into my eyes. His words brought hurt but also made perfect sense.
I buried that hurt deep in my heart, reminding myself that these people were only acquaintances and stood up to be somewhat eye level with this vampire,
"I understand, you want to protect your family but get this, so do I. If it means abandoning old friends and lovers I will do it. Get that through your thick skull, Matthew", I replied with the slightest bit of anger leaking out of my voice at the end.
He nodded and we stared at each other a few moments before he said "Very well, Christine, if that is the case then I assure you that there is no need to worry about this. It will be handled"
I nodded in gratitude and stiffened in surprise as he zoomed towards me and leaned close to my ear,
"But rest assured, Princess, if I get a hint of your betrayal there will be no one as terrifying as me"
And before I could process his threat or give a proper answer, he was gone. The hell was that? I wondered but then remembered that he was a vampire and although I wasn't as prejudiced against creatures, some caution was always helpful. But the funny thing was as much as that threat should have scared me all I felt was the sting of my headache. I had never had aches like this, what was wrong with me?
Feeling my pain increasing I stopped thinking about it and decided that it was time for me to sleep and succumbed to the comfort of the bed.

I winced as I pulled an eyelash out and cursed my inability to put on fake eyelashes.
Why did I have to be so terrible at this? Although my makeup skills were not the best, I loved doing it but that could not be said for fake eyelashes. I absolutely sucked at this! After three trials I decided that my natural ones looked good enough and criticized my face in the mirror.
My normally straight auburn hair fell in bouncy waves framing my face and my hazel eyes popped surrounded by a golden pink eyeshadow. A pinkish red lipstick colored my lips and a soft blush made me look ever so innocent.
Why so much dressing up, you ask? Apparently, we had to fit in with the crowd of the club as we were having a covert meeting, so makeup and the dress was very necessary.
"Are you ready, Christine?" Em asked as she poked her head in through the door.
"Don't you already know that, seer?" I asked playfully as I did some finishing touches.
"I am trying to be nice, witch, you better come out now everyone's getting antsy" she replied and I sighed, I had been stalling by getting ready like a snail to avoid this but now the time had come, I had to face him again.
