Christine's P.O.V

I knocked softly on Emily's door, trying to think of a way to tell her that she was going to accompany us to catch her tormentor, I grimaced at the thought and shook my head at Aurora's strategies. I had very high suspicions that she enjoyed being a sadist.
The door opened startling me but before I could say anything, Emily asked 'How long were you planning to stay here?'

I gave her a sheepish smile and opened my mouth to answer but she spoke first 'I know I'm coming with you guys and you don't have to worry, I'll be fine. Besides I'm happy to help'
My eyebrows rose in shock and I stammered like an idiot for a minute and finally said
'So this how it's going to be from now' laughing in amusement
'Yes, this is how it is with seers, the powerful ones know a lot. It is one reason people don't like seers' She said looking at her feet.

I squeezed her shoulder and said 'Well I happen to like my future being told frequently, reminds me that my bad decisions have consequences. You're gonna be just fine' smiling playfully
She smiled back at me and went back to packing, I leaned on the door and smiled at how much she had changed since my last meeting with her, I could see her trying to hide the pain and was proud that she had the strength to face her abuser again but I didn't know if that was gonna be enough.

'I know you don't know me well at all but you can talk to me, I won't judge and you don't have to worry about the others, they're not too bad either, I think' I said helping her close her suitcase, she froze for a moment and then said 'You don't trust them completely yet but you will, such an odd but powerful team we will be', going into the bathroom and continued 'And thank you, you're gonna be a very good friend'

'That's the second time someone's declared themselves my best friend' I said with an amused chuckle
'Who's the first?' She asked pulling on her scarf and patting her hair down. 
'You'll meet him soon enough and you will love him' I said following her out of the room, her eyebrows furrowed for a second in concentration and then she said

'Ah, William, interesting vampire' I nodded in awe of her abilities as we walked to the gates of the palace, I paused pulling her back before we could enter the courtyard, and asked 'Will we be fine?' Letting my worry show, She stared at my face for a moment and said 'I'm sure we will', That was comforting I thought sarcastically, and followed her outside.

Two cars were parked outside the gates with Matthew, William, Aderyn, Rose, Charlie, and Eli waiting by them, 'Finally! We've been waiting forever' grumbled Aderyn as she shot us a glare, Will glared back at her and introduced himself to Emily with a charming smile 'Hello, I'm William Clairemont, They call me the charming vampire though I am sure you already knew that, oh great seer', she blushed in response and gave him a shy smile. I heard a door close rather harshly and turned to see Rose in one of the cars, my brows furrowed in confusion but I stored it away to ask her later.

'Thank you for accompanying us Emily, I know this is difficult' Matthew said giving her a polite smile, Had this vampire ever smiled out of joy? I wondered and then mentally facepalmed myself, Of course, he would have, He had been alive for more than a thousand years and he was no stone-faced, brooding hot vampire all the humans liked to fantasize about.

Well maybe hot, oh who was I kidding he was very hot, especially in his all-black chosen attire of simple pants, a shirt, and a trench coat. Did he somehow know I was in love with trench coats? I stared at the coat draping his broad shoulders so perfectly as if it had been made for him and sighed at my stupid brain, This was not the time or the place for such thoughts, we were going on a mission that may or may not get us all killed, that was what was important right now not lusting over some vampire.

Emily's hand pulling my own snapped me out of my trance, I smiled apologetically to her and turned when the Elders appeared in front of us, ''We wish you good luck on this journey, Do not fail us, May Kamari be with you' they chorused, we all bowed our heads in respect and they disappeared again.
