Christine's P.O.V

My gasp woke me up, tears flowing down my face, and the nightmare repeating like a broken record in my head. The clock showed that it was only 7:30, so I fell back into my bed, trying to relax and fall back asleep but my head made sure none of that was going to happen, so I gave up and decided to take a bath. I was drying my hair when I heard a soft knock on my door, I opened it and found no one but a neatly folded paper on the floor, the smell of pine and old books hitting me instantly. A letter? Of course, "Mr. Who knows how old of a vampire he is " would send letters, I thought with amusement and picked it up

' Training room, 10 am
-M '
Well, he certainly doesn't beat around the bush, I thought and walked back into my room.

Walking into the library at about 8 I found an as-always graceful Princess Rose immersed in a book. I hesitated at the doorstep trying to deduce whether I could be on the same premises as her or not but lastly decided that I didn't care about the various weird cultures that came with being a royal and stepped in. I picked up a random book dedicated to the life of Marie Andonia, an extraordinary scientist who linked magic with emotions and delved into it.
After reading one page about how she started her career, I found that I couldn't get the millions of questions I wanted to ask her out of my head and concentrate on reading.

'Marie bought out all sorts of conflicting looks from lots of royals and nobles, they refused to believe what she told and proved but I see you haven't gotten to that part yet, I'm sorry if I spoiled anything for you' she stated as she frowned peering into the page I was reading
I looked up at her in shock, I didn't think she would have read about Witches who excelled in magic
'Oh don't look at me like that, We learn about all the creatures in school, we aren't that prejudiced, well at least some of us' she said with a small smile on her face.

I gave her a sheepish grin and said 'Good to know that some of you guys aren't that stupid and big-headed. So what are you doing in the library this early in the morning anyway?'
'I'm sorry you met all the wrong ones and I'm here because I enjoy reading just as much as you do' she said giving me a grin.
'ah! Finally, someone who loves reading as much as I do, we are hard to find at this age' I said jokingly and gestured to her book 'You sure do like Holmes huh?' I asked.
'Definitely and I do, Sherlock is just like who I dreamed of becoming' she said, bookmarking the page she was on and turning to give her full attention to me.
'Then why didn't you? I don't think you lack the skills ' I asked getting curious to learn more about her

A somber look came over her face making a million questions pop into my head but the dark look in her eyes halted all my racing thoughts and before I could ask what was happening, she brightened up again and asked 'Why are you up and around in this hour? Surely you need more rest'
I balked at the sudden change of subject but went with it and said 'I don't sleep well and I work in weird times so I'm used to this ' not wanting to reveal my nightmare problems.
She nodded and asked 'Have you had breakfast?',

I shook my head no and she immediately dragged me out of the room, hand in hand, 'So are you nervous about the training session with Matthew?' she asked as we walked down the familiar halls leading to the dining area, I gave her a questioning look wondering how she knew that but she just smiled knowingly. I shook my head with a smile and said with practiced confidence in my tone, 'Not really, I mean I am a little nervous but I trust that I can pass whatever test he has for me'
'Good but be careful, Matthew is as gentlemanly as he is a brute' she said with caution on her face like she didn't like the idea of me alone with a vampire

I nodded and asked 'I guessed that much but what more can you tell me?' My curiosity about the strange vampire rising
She didn't seem to notice or acted like she didn't and said 'I don't know much, just from what I have heard, they say he is lethal, never budging until he seems it appropriate and an overall scary person'
'Well those seem like normal characteristics of a 1000-year-old vampire' I said a little disappointed at his generic personality but before I could ponder over my feelings she said 'Vampires like to hide things, important things, and from what I've seen not good ones, so I wouldn't believe what they say' and rounded around the corner into the dining area, leaving me reeling in her words.
