"You seem awfully quiet today, Lane."

"Diane! What did I tell you yesterday? Baby Gab was just admitted to the hospital yesterday." Mavy whispered, even though I could totally hear her.

"He's good now. Turns out that he just needs proper ventilation." I tightly smiled and they both nodded.

"I think it's better to set aside the plan." Mavy quietly said and Diane just nodded.

I zoned out of their conversation while the girl from yesterday kept on lingering inside my head. Is there a chance that I can see her again?

"Lane!"

I jumped a little from the loudness of Mavy's voice and constructed myself in front of them.

"Yes?"

"We're getting worried about you. You're zoning out again." Diane said with concern in her eyes, which I appreciate.

"You know that you can always tell us everything, right?" Mavy softly asked. I warmly smiled and nodded. Of course.

"Well, while ordering for a sandwich yesterday, there was this girl-"

"Oh my gosh!- Sorry, continue." Mavy shyly said as Diane called her name.

"Long story short, her eyes stared into mine as she was being dragged away by the security and I just stood there like the freaking pillar beside me." I sighed and sunk deeper into my seat.

"Aw, Lane...You could have defended the girl, I mean, that's what you do, right?"

"Right, like what you've done to that Irish girl when she was being catcalled," Diane said, reminding me of that time in high school.

"I...really don't know. There's really something on the way how she looked at me, it's like commanding me to stand back..." I muttered and kept my eyes on the wall.

"We need to find this girl, pronto." Mavy clapped and snapped her fingers.

"Can you describe what she looked like? The clothes she was wearing...maybe there's a logo we can look into or specific color-"

"Lions and torches! Yes! I saw that small patch at the back of her hoodie!" I enthusiastically said as I remembered the detail of her clothes when her back was turned from me.

"Lions and torches...lions and- GOT IT!"

Diane shared her screen and the name of the university was on full display with the matching logo beside it.

"That's it!" I leaned closer to the screen raised my fists in the air.

Holy crap, she actually just live around here!

"Okay, now that we know the school...what next?" Mavy asked Diane who has been typing quickly and focused on the screen.

"Maybe she's an athlete?" I suggested and as I said that, Diane quickly went to the sports tab and her picture was in full display. Those eyes...

"That's her..." I stared longingly at the screen, but something is completely off about the picture.

"You good?"

"Yeah...this picture just seems different."

"The Pine Hills...blah blah...won the first champion again and making Kevdin Lowe bring home the outstanding league leader award. Search for Kevdin Lowe."

"Kevdin Lowe..."

I watched the two interact as they try to find the girl. The screen showed as Diane searched for her profile then bam! Her profile was displayed right in front.

"Holy shit. She's literally just a few buses from here."

"That's kinda creepy, Mavy," I admitted, how can she know her address?

"Well, she's actually my friend on Snapchat."

"WHAT?!" Diane and I said at the same time.

"I'm sorry! I don't even remember a Kevdin."

"Right, where are we, Diane?" I cleared my throat but the thought of her just living near here is making my heart explode.

"She's absolutely not a social person." She hissed as she scroll down to her profile.

"Yep, not even a picture. Only her profile photo though." Mavy showed her phone and the photo of Kevdin beside the Eifel tower with ice cream in her hand. I quietly laughed at how adorable she looked at the picture.

I shook my head and realized how creepy this is. I haven't even talked to her and here am I, looking at her only picture.

"I have to go, guys. Bye!"

I ended the call and dropped to my bed, groaning loudly at the pillow.

"Everything good, honey?"

I stood up at the thought of something to do.

"Mom, I'm going to the cafe."

"Okay, honey." She waved and I grabbed the car keys, hurrying out of the house.

I sent the girls a text that I am going to the cafe but both of them are "busy." I rolled my eyes at the both of them, I won't be surprised if those two became together tomorrow.

I went to the other side of the shop because they are currently just serving to take-outs, due to the policies of the management.

"Lane! It's nice to see you!" The kind woman or Mavy's mother smiled brightly.

"It's good to see you too, Marly." I nodded.

"The usual?"

I nodded and waited for it to be finished.

"Here you go. Don't worry about paying, it's in the house." She winked and waved me a goodbye.

I thanked her and I drove away from the shop that is very dear to me.

I searched for a good parking space to have a moment to eat the godly baked goods from the cafe.

I found one near the cinemas and I started to eat the food one by one while listening to music.

But before eating my second macaroon, someone's ass blocked my view to the left window from the road.

I noticed that they were talking to someone on the phone, not knowing that someone is peacefully eating their macaroon inside their car.

I hesitated to roll down the window so I just knocked a little louder, but the person still didn't notice.

This time, using my palm, the person finally turned around, a toned stomach is facing full in front of me now.

I gasped and held the macaroon tightly. The person bent down and shielded their eyes from the sun to look inside the car.

I composed a nervous smile while still holding the macaroon on my other hand as the person removed their sunglasses and those similar eyes pierced through me again through a thick and tinted divergence.
