Kevdin's POV:

"We already told you, it will take us days to start a-"

"You useless trash!"

I stopped Mavy from getting near the officer who look angrily at the girl.

"Ok, sir. We understood."

He scoffed and nodded.

"We have to tell her mom," Diane said.

"She'll be so angry." Mavy cried into Diane's chest.

I sighed and sat on the steps with hands on my head.

"I shouldn't have left her alone..."

I kept on blaming myself for the sudden disappearance of Lane but these two kept on denying it.

"It's not your fault, Kev," Diane said, patting my shoulder.

"But it is!"

I started to get angry and dialed someone from my contacts.

"Leo, hey, it's me."

Leo has been the person who was there since I was little. He was my father's second hand but now that he's in hospital, he doesn't do anything much.

"Hey, Bonita. What made you call this afternoon?"

"Actually, I need you to find someone for me." I sighed.

"Who is this we are talking about?" He said worryingly.

That's when I realized that I have no idea the full name of Lane. I turned to the two who are currently hugging each other.

"Do any of you know the full name of Lane?"

Mavy nodded and wiped her tears first and turned to look at me.

"We don't usually call her by the first name, but it's Haven, Haven Lane."

"Haven..." I whispered.

A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.

"You still there?"

"Y-Yeah, it's Haven Lane."

The line remained quiet and a few rustling of things can be heard from Leo's background.

"No way, her father is Emmanuel Lane?! The, Emmanuel Lane?"

"I guess, she never talked about him."

"What a small world, his father and I used to be best buddies when I was still working for the fire department." Leo amusingly said.

"What does this have to do with his daughter?"

"I-"

"Oh! Got it, got it. We'll find your girl soon, Kev."

"She's not my girl, yet." I blushed at the thought.

"Sure. Be right back."

I closed my phone and blankly stared at the moving cars.

"Who was that?" Diane asked.

"Some associates."

"What kind of associates?" Diane suspiciously asked.

"Diane..." Mavy said.

"Fine, it's someone who used to work for my Dad, and let's just say that he got...connections."

"Hmm." Diane nodded but lingered her eyes on me.

My phone rang and it was Leo.

"I found her location." He said with shock in his voice.

"Where is she." I stood up and went to my car.
