Alice hurriedly rushed to my side while holding my face carefully.
"She's not." I turned my head in Kevdin's direction. Her sight followed.
"Kevdin." She whispered as we both went to her.
"A-Alice! H-How could you." Lucas groaned in pain as he tried standing up.
"Shut up, cripple."
"You will die-"
Alice furiously grabbed her gun and pointed it at Lucas' head.
"Guards!" Lucas nervously called but no one answered him.
"Aw, don't piss your pants." Alice laughed.
"I killed them." She nonchalantly said.
"How dare you."
"No, Lucas. How dare you?! This...isn't supposed to happen." Alice motioned around all of us.
"Aren't you happy that Kevdin is dead?" Lucas smirked as his gaze went to me and Kevdin.
"She's not dead," I muttered.
"She will because Alice will shoot her."
Lucas nodded to Alice and she only laughed.
"Do...Do you still think that I am still into whatever this is after what you've done?" She stifled a laugh and walked slowly to Lucas.
"I-I thought you wanted to make Lane yours and Kevdin gone-"
"Guess what? Everything is not like that anymore." Alice said with bitterness in her voice.
"Alice," I warned her as she pointed the gun back to Lucas' head.
"I was too blinded, blinded by you, Lucas. All those endless promises you made me since I was little, never came true because I was the one who always worked for them. You manipulated me and taught me some of your wicked ways. You disgust me, Lucas."
"I am not the bad seed of the family or Kevdin. You are."
"Alice, don't." I slowly rose from the ground and took careful steps towards her.
"I am sorry for everything, Lane. I know your hatred towards me and I get it, right after I kill him, I will flee the country and-"
I gasped in shock as Lucas swiftly got the gun from Alice.
"Aha! You thought you can best me? Huh? Bitch." Lucas whispered as he gripped Alice's neck.
"Do it. Kill me."
My eyes watched as the scene unfold. I searched for the gun that was beside Kevdine earlier and saw it at the corner of the room.
I walked backward carefully and reached the corner of the room.
I heard Lucas cock the gun and point it at Alice.
"Now, we're all going to die together-"
"HANDS WHERE WE CAN SEE THEM! NOW!"
I dropped the gun I was holding within a beat and covered my head as I sat on the ground.
I saw Lucas release Alice from getting choked.
"GET HIM."
The group of armed men harshly grabbed Lucas.
"Shit, Lane. What are you doing there?" Alice called.
"I-I was just about to get the gun..." I whispered.
Alice rushed to me and hugged me tightly.
"It's okay, we're safe now." She softly said and smiled.
