In which Pepa's cloud delights a girl who loves the rain, and reveals something Camilo never thought he liked to see
When your family moved into Encanto, Alma had invited you all to the Casita - like she has done for every new villager. Camilo was done with his chores earlier than usual, so he, Antonio and Mirabel showed you around before lunch.
Camilo was particularly taken with you - delighted with how you met his witty quips and teasing compliments. Your younger brother getting along with Antonio was a welcome bonus.
That was until Pepa came home with an ominously dark cloud, muttering angrily about some women at the bakery grabbing the last of her favorite cake.
Camilo would normally rush to Pepa to calm her down, but Alma just happened to come into the courtyard. When the matriarch's eyes saw her fuming daughter and then you, Camilo desperately hoped she would not say her usual line.
"Pepa, you have a cloud." "I KNOW MAMA-"Aaaaand it rained.
Camilo couldn't help feeling a twinge of embarrassment when you and your sibling gasped at the cold sensation bathing all of you. He loves his mami, but he thought he could keep his curls at least until you returned home.
To his surprise, your sibling ran towards the rain, dragging you along until you both were happily splashing in the growing puddles. Well, you were grinning while your brother did most of the splashing.
Something twitched in Camilo's heart and he felt his face start to heat up. Instead of screaming or crying in distress like many of the girls in the village who got caught in Pepa's rain, you seemed to embrace it.
Even though your hair and clothes stuck to your skin, you allowed yourself to be strung along by your elated brother, who got Antonio to join in. You were even singing along to their impromptu "Rainy Jump" song.
Soon the rain stopped and Camilo realized his mother now had a rainbow over her head. She was cooing as she looked between your trio, and himself.
After drying off, Dolores and Antonio were happy to loan you and your brother their own clothes while Pepa volunteered to wash your clothes and return them the next day.
Your parents laughed at lunchtime when Pepa and Alma tried to apologize.
"We hardly get rain back at our old village, so the children love playing in it! (Y/N) is always the one who gets everyone to join in!" Your mother teased, and Camilo watched you try to hide a sheepish smile behind a glass of juice.
As time passed, Camilo found himself looking for you whenever he had chores in the village. You always greeted him with a grin, and you became close friends.
Camilo was quite popular himself with the girls of Encanto, but very few enjoyed Pepa's unexpected rain showed like you do. So you were a regular visitor to Casita Madrigal with your brother.
It came as no surprise that when Camilo asked his family's help to confess to you, Pepa conveniently made it rain so you two could dance in the courtyard.
Since then, rarely would the day pass without Camilo inviting you to dance - rain or shine.
As for the rest of the family, Pepa and Felix were just delighted that their son was happy. Dolores and Isabela made it a point to tease Camilo about you - making him flicker rapidly between you and himself. Antonio even chimed in by making excuses for you to come over as often as possible.
