Chapter 20

"I'll see you on Monday," Aaron said with a smile.

"Yeah. See you," tugon ko naman at ngumiti pabalik. "Thank you sa paghatid sa akin," I added.

"No problem," aniya. "Sige, pasok ka na."

"Uhm..." I paused and avoided his gaze.

What is this? Bakit parang ayaw ko pang pumasok? Bakit parang gusto ko pa siyang makasama nang mas matagal? Huhu.

"O-Okay," wika ko sa kabila ng aking pag-aalangan. Tatalikuran ko na sana siya, pero bigla siyang nagsalita ulit, kaya napahinto ko.

"Wait."

"Hmm?"

"Nothing. I just want to let you know that you're the most beautiful girl in my world," he said to me.

I chuckled softly. I didn't expect that. "Really? Thanks."

Nagulat ako nang bigla niya akong hilahin palapit sa kaniya. He then held both of my cheeks and kissed my forehead.

"I love you, so much, that it hurts sometimes. But it's fine. As long as I can love you, I'm fine," he whispered in my ear. Tapos ay lumayo na siya at nagsimula nang maglakad paalis.

Napahawak ako sa aking dibdib habang pinapanood ko siyang maglakad palayo. I feel like my chest is about to explode.

Aaron, why are you doing this to me?

Nandito na ako ngayon sa kwarto ko, nagpapahinga. Napagod ako sa biyahe. I'm just lying in my bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking about him --- you know who.

Nagpagulong-gulong ako sa kama habang impit na tumitili.

Few minutes later, my body started to feel weird. Kusa na lamang pumipikit ang mga mata ko. I blinked repeatedly, trying to fight it. The urge to close my eyes is too strong.

Suddenly, it feels like my soul is being sucked out of my body. Bumibigat din ang aking paghinga.

What is happening?

I tried to scream, but no sound came out of my mouth. Napahawak ako sa aking dibdib. It feels tight.

Am I gonna die? If I die here, will I finally go back to the real world? Or will I be gone forever?

Aaron suddenly came to mind. The thought of not seeing him again is breaking my heart. A tear rolled down my cheek.

I tried breathing through my mouth, but to no avail.
