Chapter 03

"Good morning, class," the teacher greeted us when he entered the room. He's wearing a pair of blue jogging pants and a white t-shirt bearing Saint Mattheiu's logo. I'm guessing he's our PE teacher.

"Good morning, Mr. Lao," the class greeted him back. I see. Mr. Lao is his name. 

Lumingon si Mr. Lao sa may pintuan at may sinenyasan siya doon, kaya naman napalingon kaming lahat kung saan siya nakatingin.

A familiar girl entered the room. It's Faith. Napuno ng bulung-bulungan ang silid. They're all talking about her. 

"Class, this is your new classmate," Mr. Lao informed us. He then turned to Faith. "Go introduce yourself."

Nginitian lang ni Faith si Mr. Lao, tapos ay pumwesto na siya sa gitna para magpakilala.

I blinked a few times. Is this for real? Bakit parang may spotlight na nakatutok kay Faith? Tapos bakit parang ang dilim sa pwesto namin? Bakit sa kaniya lang maliwanag? Pati ba naman dito, unfair ang buhay? 

Lumingon-lingon ako, trying to know if anyone else notices, pero wala. Ako lang yata ang nakakita ng mga pa-effects dito sa story. I sighed. 

"Hello, everyone. I'm Faith Lorenzo. I hope we get along well," she said, smiling. She's very pretty, especially when she smiles. She waved at me when our eyes met. I just smiled and gave her a nod.

"Thank you, Ms. Lorenzo. You may sit beside Ms. Estrella, the pretty girl with long, straight hair sitting by the window," Mr. Lao said to her while pointing at me. 

Nice. Pinagtabi pa talaga kami. And what's with that description of me? Pretty girl with long, straight hair? That's so nice of him. I like this teacher already!

Anyway, this is not good! Balak ko ngang umiwas sa mga main characters 'di ba? Pero bakit parang pinaglalapit pa kami lalo? 

Nakangiting naglakad na palapit sa akin si Faith at umupo na sa tabi ko. 

"Hi," mahinang pagbati niya sa akin pagkaupo niya. 

"Hi," I greeted her back, flashing an awkward smile. Tapos ay nag-iwas na ako ng tingin. I should not be overly friendly with her. 

Napabalik naman ang tingin ko sa harapan nang biglang pumalakpak ng tatlong beses si Mr. Lao. "Alright, class. You know the drill. Go change into your PE uniforms. We'll go to the gym," he stated with a smile. Tapos ay lumingon siya sa direksiyon ko. "Of course, except you, Ms. Estrella."

Oh, right. I have asthma. I can't do physical activities. Sayang naman. Actually, I was a volleyball player when I was in high school. I was in fact the captain ball of our team. I really enjoyed sports. Too bad, I can't be too active while I'm still here. 

Nagsitayuan na ang mga kaklase ko at nagsilapitan na sa kani-kanilang mga locker para kunin ang kanilang PE uniforms. What should I do? Should I just stay here or should I go with them and watch? I guess I'll go watch.
