Chapter 10

After I wake up, I am moved to the physiotherapy ward. I have to do simple exercises every day to build my strength back up. It isn't the same without Lauren to encourage me though but I do it for her anyway. I can't let her hard work be for nothing. I find myself constantly striving to remember her voice and the thought of seeing her again when I am better keeps me going. I found out yesterday I'll be here at least another six months and it will be gruelling but the most important thing is I'm alive and willing to get my health and strength back. I do wonder if Lauren will visit at some point. I hope she does. Maybe one of the nurses on this ward will be able to take her a message for me? I can ask I guess.
I did ask. To be fair, the nurses up here are going out of their way to be helpful and one of them, Sandy, tries to pass on my message to Lauren. She tells me Lauren has gone off sick but she doesn't know what with. I sigh. I miss her and her voice so much. It's pretty weird really considering I've never really seen her. But I know her care brought me back from the brink and I want to thank her properly.
