(Tessa's POV.)

I leaned my head against the car window. I closed my eyes and listened to the rain. Of course it had to be raining. This was going to be the third move this year. Most kids say they move because of their parents, but my parents moved because of me.

*FLASHBACK*
I was on my couch watching 'friends' and editing my new YouTube video. It was a cover of 'fix you' by Coldplay. I got a text from my best friend Phoebe saying to check my Twitter. I grabbed my phone off the counter and quickly logged in. I scrolled through my timeline and saw shawn mendes' latest tweet. I always follow his tweets because he has an AMAZING voice!!! I couldn't believe my eyes, it read:
@ShawnMendes
Omg! Check out this girl's
cover of 'life of the party'
on YouTube... truly
talented >>

I clicked on the link, a familiar image popped up. It was MY cover of the acoustic version of 'life of the party' I had done last week. I almost passed out!! THE Shawn Mendes actually noticed my video.!!!Since then my videos have gotten millions of views. From then and on everything happened so fast. It was all a crazy blur.
Soon enough I was in a studio with Shawn Mendes recording songs. I gained thousands of followers a week and was constantly being noticed in public.

Living in L.A. I saw how people blow up in success, but I never knew it could happen this fast. School was the worst. I was no longer treated as "tessa peterson" an ordinary girl. Quickly after that we moved to Maryland to get out of that hot mess. I was sad to leave Phoebe behind but I had to do what was best for my family.

*END FLASHBACK*
I opened my eyes thinking of Maryland. It was great and all but it was getting as worse as L.A. People using me and my family for fame. A girl can't simply get privacy when your this famous. We decided to move up to New Jersey where we had family, hoping it would give us comfort to see some familiar faces. I was pulled out of my thoughts when the car came to a stop in front of a nice house. Great.
