Ch. 37 The Truth Be Told

Tessa POV

It makes me sick to my stomach. I checked my phone while getting off the couch. It was Sunday, so I decided on getting some exercise to relieve my stress.

I was running down the street in my neighborhood listening to some Drake. It felt good to get some exercise, especially with all of the stress lately. Jamie had told me that I would be starting my world tour in June. I was super excited but really, all I could think about was Grayson.  

I don't really know why I am so scared to tell him the truth. But I finally made up my mind. I'm gonna tell him first thing on Monday morning. It was settled. 

I was just about to turn the corner to my house when all of a sudden giant vans whipped around the corner and stopped suddenly right next to me. Paparazzi came piling out and started surrounding me with so many camera lights.

"Smile for the camera Tessa!!" one paparazzi shouted. I can't believe they found me, I thought to myself.

All I could think to do was to sprint to Meghan's house. I ran as fast as I could  

"Meghan! Open up, open up!" I pleaded as I pounded on her back door. The door opened up to reveal a panicked looking Meghan standing in the doorway. I ran inside and slammed the door behind me, not forgetting to lock it. 

"What's wrong?" Meghan asked.

"Paparazzi.....they found me......I don't know how but they did." I said in between breaths. 

For the next two hours I remained captive at Meghan's house until someone could pick me up and take me home. When I got home, I sprinted up the stairs and into my parents room where I explained the whole situation to my parents. 

-Monday-

Grayson POV

I walked into school expecting it to be just another boring Monday... boy was I wrong. When I stepped through the front doors of the school, all I could see was my beautiful girlfriend's face plastered against every locker, every door, and every wall. I picked one up, confused as hell, only to notice that it wasn't just a picture, it was the cover of a magazine. What the hell is this? I'm so confused right now. The article on the front is depicting Tessa as being famous or something. I knew I had to find her and sort this out. With the magazine in hand, I pushed my way through the crowd and ran down the halls looking for Tessa. 

About 15 minutes of running up and down hallways and looking in and out of classrooms, I still haven't found her. Not to mention I've texted her about 30 times. As I was walking past the cafeteria, I noticed a huge group of people gathered around a lunch table and a figure standing on top. That figure just so happened to be Abbey, the last person on earth I wanted to see. I decided to walk in there anyway and see if I could find out what this was all about. While I was approaching the table, my eyes drifted over the faces in the crowd, searching for one in particular. My attention was pulled from the group and onto whoever was entering the cafeteria next. It was Tessa, being led by one of Abbey's "minions". Our eyes met but it was as if I was looking at a different person. 

"Hello everyone and thank you so much for coming here today. We've got a little show for you, isn't that right Tessa?" Abbey smirked. All heads turned towards Tessa but she was looking right at me with wide, scared eyes.

"You're probably all wondering why you're here and why little miss perfect's face is hanging on every inch of this school. Well, turns out she's not so perfect after all. She's been lying to us. That's right, all of us. She isn't some innocent little girl who happened to move here because of her daddy's job. No, she's a famous bitch who came here to escape the troubles of her "perfect" little life. That girl you thought you knew? It's not her at all. She's a fake and I knew it from the start. Looks like some of us were just too blind to notice it." Abbey said the last sentence looking directly at me.
