Ch. 5 bus ride

After getting my stuff from my locker, I went to go meet Nick at the front of the school near the bus. When we hopped on the bus we realized that there were no open two seats next to each other. Nick looked at me with a sympathetic look, "It's fine go ahead," I said in approval.
He smiled at me and sat down next to one of his new senior friends. That left me in an awkward position. I glanced around and saw an empty seat next to a friendly looking girl.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" I asked nervously.
"No of coarse not. Go ahead!" the nice girl said back. "I'm Meghan. Are you new here I haven't seen you before?" Meghan asked.
"My name is Tessa and yeah I just moved here on Friday." I said back.

Throughout the bus ride we talked and got to know each other. I learned that Meghan was also a sophomore and she has an older sister named Kylie. She also lives in my neighborhood.

Before the bus got to my street we exchanged numbers.
I got off the bus and waved goodbye. Before I even stepped into the house, I got a text from Meghan.

Meghan: hey I was wondering if u wanted to come over tonight. we're having pizza and my mom said that u could join us!
Tessa: sounds fun! what time?
Meghan: is 7 good with u?
Tessa: yep my mom said she could drive me over. what's ur address?
Meghan: 1723 Woodbury Lane
Tessa: ok I'll see u at 7
Meghan: ok bye!!💕
Tessa: bye!😊

I put my phone down on the counter and grabbed a snack out of the pantry. Since we didn't have a lot of food I just grabbed some pretzels. I ran up to my room and sat on the bed with my guitar. I strummed random chords, thinking of the people I met today.
