Ch.6 Tips

It was 6:30 so I decided to start getting ready to go to Meghan's house. I walked to my closet and grabbed sweatpants, a longsleeve, and my ugg boots. Since it was just a casual hangout I put my long, thick hair into a messy bun and didn't bother putting on any makeup. I walked downstairs to see Hadley eating a snack.
"Hey Had what's up?" I asked
"Nothin just eating a snack." she replied with a mouth full of goldfish.
"Have you seen mom?"
"She's in the laundry room." she said with her adorable little kid voice.
"Ok thanks!" I said as I walked to the laundry room to get my mom.

It was 7 pm sharp when I rang the doorbell to Meghan's house. I heard heavy feet thumping down the stairs when a man swung open the door.
"Hi you must be Tessa. I'm Meghan's dad. She's downstairs with her sister."

I walked down the stairs after introducing myself to Meghan's mom and dad. As I reached the bottom step, I heard fits of laughter coming from the other side of the room.
"Oh hey Tessa, over here." Meghan said patting the seat next to her on a big leather couch. "Tessa this is my sister Kylie. Kylie this is Tessa."
Kylie clumsily put down her pizza and pulled me in for a hug.
"Hi! Wow you are sooo pretty. But you look kinda familiar. I swear I've seen your face somewhere." Kylie said.
"I don't think so... maybe you saw me in the halls at school?" I said, pulling off a fake smile to hide the fear that was slowly building up on the inside. Thankfully the topic was dropped when Meghan asked if anyone wanted more pizza.

We started talking about school. Apparently Kylie is a senior, same as Nick. Then I asked about Ethan and Grayson.
"What about them?" Meghan said
"I don't know they seem nice." I said
"Yeah they are, but Ethan's taken." Meghan replied slightly chuckling.
"Wait, what's so funny?" I asked completely confused.
"Oh we used to date freshmen year, but we're just friends now." Meghan said.
I nodded thinking about Grayson and silently hoping he wasn't taken.
"What about Grayson?" I asked.
"He's single but don't get your hopes up." she said.
"What do you mean?"
"Well... his ex, Abbey, aka the school bitch is crazy about him even though he caught her cheating on him twice." Meghan said. "But I don't want to be a Debby downer. Let's talk about something else!" she exclaimed.

"Do you play any sports?" Kylie asked me.
"I played volleyball for 5 years but kinda stopped within the last year cause of switching schools and stuff." I replied back.
"Oh well you should totally try out for the school team!!" both Meghan and Kylie suggested.
Before I could reply, my phone started ringing. Meghan picked it up off the floor next to her so she could hand it to me.
"Who's 'Main Manager'?" she asked with a very confused look!
