Ch.8 First class

*fast forward to Friday morning*
(Tessa POV)
The rest of the week went by fairly quick. Grayson and I got closer, sitting next to each other in chemistry and other classes we had together. Plus we had short conversations out of school, but nothing major. Me and Meghan found out we had five classes and lunch together! She and Kylie eventually talked me into signing up for the volleyball team at school and I'm actually enjoying the practices. But today, all that mattered was that it was Friday... and I would be on a plane heading to Florida in almost 9 hours. I had to leave right after school in order to just barely make it to my plane on time! I put my backpack in my locker and got the materials I would need for my first class, math. I headed to my math class and sat down in a chair and went on my phone for a bit until class started.

After a full morning of math, Spanish, lit, AP English, and lastly PE, I finally had lunch. I put my stuff in my locker and grabbed my lunch box and went to go save a seat for Meghan and I.

Chemistry came after lunch. I was excited to see Grayson and be able to talk to him. I still don't know him all too well and I'm not sure if I can trust him, I'm just keeping my distance for now until I've known him for a bit longer. Chemistry is literally one of the most boring things I've ever had to sit through, but being able to stare at Grayson pretty much the whole class is worth it! When chemistry was finally over, Grayson waited for me to finish gathering all my books.
He nervously cleared his throat causing me to look up. "Tessa, my friend jake is having this party tomorrow and well, I was just wondering if you wanted to come with me?"
I was utterly shocked, yet excited that he would ask me out! But then my heart fell when I realized that I would be in Orlando tomorrow.
"I would love too......but I'm going out of town tonight and will be gone the whole weekend
. I'm really sorry Grayson! I really wish I could go!!" I replied feeling guilty and a little sad.
"It's ok. I totally understand!" Grayson said with disappointment all over his face. "So where are you going?" He asked just being friendly.
"Florida."
"Oh fun...what are you going there for?" he wondered.
'Oh no oh no oh no!! What do I do? What do I do? I don't want to lie to him! It was bad enough I had to lie to Meghan.' I mentally had a mini panic attack.
"Ummmm.... uh I'm just going to visit some family." I lied!!! Ugh I hate this! But sadly I've become used to it.

I quickly left the classroom trying to avoid the awkward situation that was about to happen. Feeling awful about what I just did!
*after school*
The bell rang and I practically sprinted out of my last class to get out of school. My dad was driving me and my mom to the airport. I got in the car and we headed off to catch our flight.

After only a 20 minute drive we got to the airport and raced to get through security and find our gate.
"Bye dad, I'll see you Sunday. I love you and I'll miss you!" I said giving him a big hug.
"Bye honey. I'll miss you too. Good luck on your concert, I know you'll do great!" My dad said giving my mom a kiss on the cheek and a big hug.
"Flight 356 to Orlando, Florida is now boarding. Flight 356 is now boarding." a voice on the intercom said loud and clear.
Well this is goodbye for now New Jersey!

We boarded the plane sitting down in our first class seats. I relaxed a bit while the plane took off, excited to see my fans in just a few hours. Time to take out the real me.
