Chapter 29

After what happened at the hospital, Thoma thought it was best for himself to stay home for a while. He physically could no longer function at school and didn't want to be a bother to his classmates.

Again, he was desperately waiting for a phone call from the hospital. He spent hours just starting at his phone, anticipation filling his brain every time his phone screen lit up.

For the most he chilled at the Kamisato estate since Ayato felt like it would be better is Thoma was under his supervision temporarily. Ayato doesn't think that Thoma's been taking care of himself like usual so he's there to support him during this hard time for everyone.

They haven't heard from Ningguang and Beidou. After Kazuha went into surgery, no sight of them occurred. They disappeared in plain sight.

Currently Thoma was laying down on his bed, watching one of his favourite shows, when suddenly his phone started ringing.

He quickly picked it up, impatiently waiting for someone to say something on the other line.

"Hello? Thoma?"

Thoma sighed loudly when the voice on the other line appeared to be his younger sister, Yoimiya.

"Thomaaaa? Did you die?"

"Sorry, I zoned out for a bit. So what's up? You need anything?" He said.

"Why are you in such a rush to get off the phone with me? Are you busy?" Asked Yoimiya.

"No. I was just watching a favourite show of mine."

"Anyways, I forgot the snacks I bought for the little ones I'm babysitting. Do you mind passing by to give them to me?"

"I would love to but—- I'm not home."

"Then go home? C'mon Thoma please!"

"I'll be there soon then! Text me the address, see you soon Miya."

"Okay! Bye Thoma!"

After speaking to his younger sister, he grabbed his car keys and proceeded to go do what his sister asked.

Thoma stopped by his house and found the bag all the snacks were in. While he was driving to the location Yoimiya sent him, his phone started ringing again.

He figured it was his sister again, so he connected his phone to the bluetooth in his car.

"Miya please be patient, I'm almost-"

"Sorry to break it to you sir, but the name Miya is not familiar to me. Moving on, am I speaking to Mr. Thoma?"

Oh shoot, it's the nurse from the hospital.

Thoma decided it was best to pull over. The nurse could give him good or bad news. So to avoid being put in the hospital himself, pulling over is the best option.

"Yes, yes! You are currently speaking to Thoma." He replied.

"Great! Correct me if I'm wrong, your affiliated with the patients Kaedehara Kazuha and Gorou. Am I right?"

"Correct!"

"Perfect. I called you hear today to give you an update about Kazuha's surgery."

Thoma suddenly turned pale and his hands started to slightly shake. Kazuha's survival rate was under 40%.

So technically, 40% good news and 60% bad news.
