Elsa's POV

Bright sunlight filtered through my curtains. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes as I sat up in bed. I heard bustling around the house & realized today was my first day. My outfit was already set up along with my vanity. But all my makeup was packed in an unknown box, so Mom was going to let me borrow hers. I was dressed in my white sandals, light blue capris, & white blouse with blue swirls. I thought it looked kinda preppy but down to earth for me. I then headed to the bathroom to put my contacts in. It was my last pair & I really needed some new ones, but with all the moving, Mom hasn't had time to order me some more. I was about to pop the contact in my eye when my door flew open. I flinched & the contact flew off my finger & into the sink. There went my contact, down the drain. I couldn't just wear one now. I turned to the one who pushed my door open. I wasn't surprised to see Carissa.
"CARISSA!!!!" I screamed, raged with fury. I chased after Carissa, who thought this was all fun & games. She giggled & screamed with joy while I chased her down the stairs & into the kitchen where Mom was cooking & Eric was reading a book & drinking his morning coffee.
"Girls?" Mom questioned.
"GIRLS!" Eric yelled, realizing we weren't having fun, I was just trying to kill my little step-sister.
"Help!" Carissa yelled, hiding behind my mom's skirt. Mom patted her head, then slowly walks to me.
"Els, let's go upstairs & do your makeup," Mom says. I nod, tears streaming down my face. I wasn't sad, just so frustrated. Carissa was just...UGH! I was so tired of her already. Mom led me upstairs & wiped my face with a clean cloth.
"Elsa, what happened honey?" She asked. I explained about my contacts & Mom slowly nodded, listening to very thing like the good mom she is. Finally she walked to my vanity & grabbed my glasses.
"Mom, I can't wear those!" I argued.
"Of course you can. You look beautiful in them."
"Aww man," I sighed, grabbing them out of her hand. But without the glasses I couldn't see a thing. But it was my first day! I couldn't go to school wearing my chunky black glasses. I looked like a friggin nerd gone wrong. Great first day eh? Mom brushed out my side bangs and braided my hair along my back then pulled it over my shoulder. Then she applied makeup to my face & called it good. I decided I looked presentable, so I grabbed my backpack & went downstairs. Anna was sitting in the office on the main level, where the Wi-Fi connection worked best, of course. When she saw me she brightened up.
"Ready for our first day?" She breathed. I shrugged a little, suddenly filled with nerves.
"Don't worry Els, everyone will love you."
"I hope so," I muttered. Then we went into the kitchen. The second I walked in Carissa shielded her face & yelled,
"Don't hurt me Elsie, I'm sorry!" I chuckled at my little sis & faked as if I was gonna punch her. She flinched.
"Haha, two for flinching," I tapped Carissa lightly on the arm. She pouted. Then I waved bye to Eric & Mom hustled Anna & I out the door.
