Chapter 19

Elsa's POV

The dance was absolutely amazing & I especially couldn't wait for the after party at Jamie & Jack's house. Jamie led me away from the ballroom, we grabbed his coat, & went outside. I breathed in the fresh air & got in Jamie's car. He drove me to my house. I took my purse & mask & got in my car because after the party, I would just drive myself home. In my car was also a change of clothes. I threw on the leggings, white cotton plain shirt, & flip flops. I let down my hair & since it was all tied up in twists & braids, it turned out wavy. I loved it. Then I grabbed my keys out of my purse & drove off to Jamie's house. When I reached it, there were couples strewn everywhere. It was exciting, but kind of overwhelming. I got out of my jeep & followed behind Jamie into the party. I spotted Rap & Merida & we began talking. We were chatting & Jamie stuck by my side. Then we left to go talk to Eugene & Hiccup. Everyone was super nice & happy. It was a magical night. After talking to Jamie's friends, they left to go out to the pool out back, where the girls were.
"I'll go get us some punch," Jamie excused himself.
"Okay I'll be out by the pool with the girls," I kissed his cheek. Then I left to go outside. The pool setup was really nice. I found Rap & Merida sitting at the edge of the pool, their feet dangling. Hiccup & Eugene were in the pool. I sat on the edge & rolled up my leggings.
"So Els, how has your night been so far?" Rap smirked. I giggled.
"It was so amazingly magical," I replied.
"Same here!" Merida blushed.
"Well I'd hope so," Hiccup bursts, his hair glistening with water. I laughed at Mer, who blushed red as a tomato. Rap laughed & grabbed a towel. She pulled her feet out of the water & settled into a lawn chair. I did the same & Merida followed. The boys just started wrestling. We laughed as they tried to do chicken fights with others. Then finally they got out of the pool. Hiccup went right over to Merida & sat on her. Mer screamed.
"You're all wet! Get off!" She screamed. Rap & I giggled. Seeing Hiccup & Merida together reminded me of Jamie. Speaking of, where was he? I remember telling him I'd be out by the pool, so it's not like he got lost. I stood up.
"Where are you going?" Rap asked.
"Jamie said he was going to get punch, but that was about a half hour ago." I explain.
"You sure he knows you're out here?" Mer raises a brow. I nod & brush myself off.
"I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding," I shrug. Eugene nods weirdly. I bite my lip & turn to go find Jamie. Inside, the music is extremely loud. I pushed my way through masses of people. Everyone smells like alcohol & drugs. Was someone doing drugs? Eww. I was getting tired so I just screamed to no one:
"DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE JAMIE IS?" Suddenly people part like the Red Sea & I spot a set of doors. But they are wide open. Sitting on the couch in the room is Jamie, his arm around Hillary the slut, & another girl, probably a part of Hillary's clique. And I see Jamie shoving his tongue down her throat. I stand there with my mouth wide open. I don't even know what to do. Hillary reaches down to Jamie's belt buckle & they break for air. No one has realized me standing there yet. I fumble next to me & reach my purse. Inside I grab my keys & get a good grip on them.
"HERE, YOU CAN HAVE YOUR FUCKING CAR BACK!" I scream. Then I chuck the keys as hard as I can into Jamie's chest. Jamie is surprised & looks painful, but I don't even care. I turn & run, away from him, away from Hillary, & away from everyone. I run out to the front porch & take a seat. I was so in the moment that I didn't think of a ride home. Plus my parents weren't home yet, & my house key was attached to my car keys. I couldn't go back. Never. I sighed & rested my chin in my hands. Then I heard something click behind me. I stood up & gasped.
"Jack?"
"Elsa?" Jack says, stepping out from underneath a tree nearby. He has a lighter in his hand & a cigarette in his mouth. I sit down. Suddenly, something wet lands on my lip. I reach up & realize it's a tear. The waterworks are streaming down my face. I sigh.
"Uh...are you...okay?" Jack asks.
"No. I need a ride home," I bite my lip.
"Well I'll take you, but you'll have to explain while in the car because I know your car is right over there," Jack points. I giggled, then sigh again.
"It's a long story."
